Four weeks ago we got to know a bit about Brath's Deep Dwarves, specifically the Gem Golem and a few ways Brath and her deck uses them to her advantage. Today we'll explore a few more of the synergies between Gem Golems and this deck, and some more proximity tricks this deck carries.

Gem Archer

You can't really go wrong with a 1r/1/1, especially in a deck where proximity to Gem Golems grants a little more cushion of stability, but their direct relationship with Gem Golems through GEM ACTIVATE is outstanding. After making an attack with the Gem Archer, regardless of hitting, you can activate a Gem Golem within 2 spaces to move and/or attack, even if it has attacked this turn. This is a great way to push a Gem Golem to block, push it into range of a more susceptible friendly Common to be under HARVEST protection, or allow a bit more beat up from a Gem Golem, especially if it's boosted by Brath's Deep Magic.

Noa

Noa is a beast on his own, swinging 3 AV at just 5 cost and a 5 life. He is a mash-up of Holleas and Lun, allowing you to more cheaply drop Gem Golems immediately from your hand at one of two different times, before or after moving with him. This comes with tons of benefits. Most obvious: the discount of the Gem Golem. Second, the ability to place Gem Golems nearly anywhere - positioning them for helpful HARVEST or event triggers. Remember last preview when I mentioned using Back to the Deep to pull back a wounded Gem Golem to your hand? Yea... you can immediately get it back out. You can also play certain combos right to pull off a Gift from the Mother Gem or a Magic Strike just before doing that.

What is Magic Strike you ask?

Magic Strike

Boom. Blasted. It's a giant cloud of damage to any Common or Champion within 2 spaces of 1 or more Gem Golems. With the possibility of horrible bloodshed on the battlefield (especially in match ups against lower life Units) Brath only has 1 of these cards to use, so you can see why you would want as many ways as possible to get your Gem Golems into optimal board position for the greatest impact.

That's all for today, folks. Next time we'll learn just how hard this band of Deep Dwarves can hit.
