The Artist of Dreams Preview #1
Fox Spirit, Wishing Wing and Realm Walker
Welcome back, Ashes players! Today we introduce the backbone of Hope’s strategy, featuring quick conjurations and precision timing of key abilities.
Summon Fox Spirit
Main
Main, Exhaust, 1IC: Place a Fox Spirit conjuration onto your battlefield.
Focus 1: You may change the activation cost of this spell to Side, Exhaust, 1IC.
Fox Spirit
Conjuration (3)
1/1/0
Keen 1: When this unit comes into play, you may raise 1 die in your active pool one level.
Pounce 2: When this unit is declared as an attacker, add 2 to its attack value for the remainder of the turn if it is targeting an exhausted unit.
Hope’s specialty is in summoning small conjurations quickly and numerously. The Fox Spirit is their first magical friend, adept in smoothing out your actions by raising dice, and even being able to be summoned on a side action when focused! The Fox Spirit can really put the pressure on later in the round when your opponent has an exhausted unit to Pounce on!
Summon Wishing Wing
Main
Main, Exhaust, 1TC: Place a Wishing Wing conjuration onto your battlefield.
Focus 2: Then place 1 status token on that Wishing Wing.
Wishing Wing
Conjuration (3)
X/1/0
Opportunist 1: When this unit comes into play, if you have a TP in your active pool, place 1 status token on this unit.
[INEX: Bequest X: When this unit is destroyed, you may draw X cards.
X = the number of status tokens on this unit.]
Hope’s other conjured creation is the Wishing Wing. This crafty bird is all about timing with the Opportunist ability. It also serves as a great home for any status tokens you may have flying around, as it double dips on them via attack power and also card draw when it is destroyed!
Realm Walker
Ally, Main, 1IP, 1TC, 1B, 3/3/2
Isolate 1: When this unit is declared as an attacker, choose a target opponent to place 1 exhaustion token onto an unexhausted unit of their choice that they control.
Hope has more than just small conjurations up their sleeve. The Realm Walker is the latest member of the ‘Knight’ family, boasting an incredibly potent ability in Isolate. Many units of this caliber require a careful balancing of offensive and defensive postures, but the Realm Walker forgoes this to go all in on aggressive pressure!
