Law. A rule that must be obeyed.
But who gets to make these laws? Who enforces them? Lucky for you, dear player, this is the role of the Light Clan.
Arbiters of War
But the law must be enforced uniformly. All must obey. When the Arbiters of War are in a zone, all units in that zone are considered to have an attack value of 4. This might raise a unit’s attack value, this might lower it. Fair is fair. Try to use this to your advantage by bringing in low attack units, like Servants of the Light, and use them to go after previously high attack units, such as your opponent’s heroes.
Arbiters of Peace
Light Clan is a clan of balance. One cannot have war without also having peace. While the Law of War affects the attack value of units, the Law of Peace does the same to their defense values. Increase your own defensive abilities, while lowering your opponent’s. But tread carefully when using these laws, after all, it would be terrible to see your own heroes’ abilities reduced.
Who receives the prayers, who creates these laws, and who maintains the balance? The Light Clan are led by a trio of Divine heroes, the Avatars. Avatar Melelolu’s Law of Merit prevents Crystal Effects from taking place. This includes immediate-use powers as well as delayed-action powers. Will your opponent still spend initiative to score a crystal if they don’t get the benefit? But remember, laws still apply to both sides, so make sure you reorder Avatar Melelolu from the top of your squad before you take a scoring action.
There are a lot of defensive strategies that you can utilize to prevent your home zone from being invaded, but none work as well as the Law of Asylum. When Avatar Hondodi leads a squad, neither side may invade the other. This allows you to ignore your defensive setup, while forcing your opponent to still maintain hers, since you can reorder Avatar Hondodi’s squad in the blink of an eye.
Avatar Kindara is one of my favorite cards in the Light Clan. Her power can be extremely useful to regather your cards, essentially blocking your opponent from scoring a free crystal. This is especially true if you’ve cycled through your deck much quicker than your opponent, or if you’ve already managed to force your opponent to reshuffle their deck. However, I tend to prefer her battle card ability. While this doesn’t apply to all Crystal cards, only those which get flipped over when activated, reusing some of those abilities can be absolutely game-changing.
Will your Prayers be answered? Will you gain the bonus initiative or locate the card in your deck that you seek? Find out when you play as the Light Clan!
