Assemble the Ultimate Super-Powered Team!
Paladin ducked behind a pile of rubble as the wall behind him erupted in a spray of enemy gunfire. He checked the ammo display on his energy rifle. Half a clip, not exactly enough to fight his way out.
“Valkyrie, this is Paladin, what’s your ETA?”
“I read you, Paladin. I’ll be there shortly.” Paladin could hear a thunderstorm of bullets over his comm as Valkyrie rebuked the enemy forces. More shots whizzed by his head, exploding as they connected with the walls behind him. As the dust and smoke from the explosion began to clear, Paladin grimaced as he recognized a gruesome masked figure in the ash.
“Mauler.” said Paladin. “Always looking for an easy payday, even in a warzone.”
His opponent ejected the spent casing of the explosive round from his firearm.
“A job’s a job, Paladin.” Mauler replied as he loaded another round. “Now, get out of the way."
Heroes Rise
Assemble the ultimate team and join the fight in Guardians, a game of super-powered battles for two or four players! The Guardians were once a network of legendary heroes that fought for peace and justice. They were influential in establishing InterGov, the world’s first global government. The Guardians chose to step aside so that InterGov could usher the world into a new age of peace and prosperity. Nearly three decades have passed, and new threats have emerged to challenge the peace these heroes fought for. A new generation of heroes must now rise and fight for the future!
In Guardians, players will choose and assemble a team of three unique heroes from the available roster of super-powered combatants. From there, players will gather each hero’s unique power and ultimate cards to form their own deck. The combinations are endless as you explore the strengths and abilities of each hero!
Control the Battlefield
Once players have assembled their team of heroes, it’s time to take the fight to your opponent! Each game of Guardians will have players using their team of heroes to fight for control of a variety of unusual locations. Dominate the fight by playing powerful cards and knocking out enemy heroes, then unleash an Ultimate - a special attack that will radically change the state of the game.
Fight for the Future
It’s up to you to assemble the ultimate team in Guardians and lead them to victory. Every hero has their own unique strengths and abilities, and to win the battle you’ll need to find the most optimal strategy for your team. We’ll have plenty of previews soon covering everything from deck construction to the phases of play and of course the heroes themselves! The rules for Guardians are available to download here, as well. Check back soon for more information! Guardians will be available from retailers and our own webstore in the fourth quarter of this year, but we’ll be having a special preview sale with limited quantities at GenCon 2018!
