Ashes at Gen Con 50
Events, Tournaments, Releases and More!
Prepare for Battle Once Again
It’s that wonderful time of year again, Ashes Fans! Gen Con 50 will see premier Ashes: Rise of the Phoenixborn events for both Constructed play and Draft formats! We’ve scheduled two 36-person Constructed tournaments for Thursday, August 17th at 2:00 P.M. and Friday, August 18th at 9:00 A.M. The top 8 spots from both tournaments will qualify for the Ashes Tournament Finals on Saturday, August 19th at 4:00 P.M. Additionally, there will be a Draft tournament on Saturday, August 19th at 10:00 A.M.
The top 8 players from each qualifier tournament as well as the top 8 players from the Draft tournament will be awarded an exclusive Ashes play mat unique to this year’s Gen Con! That’s not all! Every player that participates in the Constructed or Draft tournaments will receive two exclusive alternate-art Phoenixborn, Lulu Firststone and Orrick Gilstream. There will be even more exciting prizes up for grabs, such as acrylic first player and exhaustion tokens and trophy plaques for the top players! Be sure to register now while seats are still remaining!
New Challengers Emerge
In addition to the Ashes events at Gen Con, we will also be offering two new deluxe expansions for purchase, the Laws of Lions and the Song of Soaksend! Both expansions include a fully playable deck for Ashes, a deluxe deck box for storing your Ashes cards, tokens, and 10 new custom-engraved dice! Both of these Deluxe Expansions will be available for purchase at Gen Con and will be widely released soon after. Keep in mind that the cards from both of these decks will be tournament-legal for the qualifier Constructed tournaments, and all players that have pre-registered for the Constructed tournaments will have a copy of each reserved for them at the Plaid Hat booth #1537. Keep in mind that these copies will only be held in reserve until 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 19th, so be sure to stop by the booth before your event! Gear up and plan your strategy accordingly!
The War Rages On
This year’s Gen Con is going to have plenty happening for Ashes: Rise of the Phoenixborn, and as always we’re excited to meet and interact with fans of the game.
