After a lot of thought on the matter, we (Plaid Hat Games) have decided to reduce the MSRP on BioShock Infinite: Siege of Columbia from $84.95 to $64.95.  The original retail price of $84.95 was set to reflect a normal margin we are accustomed to taking on a board game we release.  Since the release of the game we have been paying close attention to feedback from customers, retailers and distributors.  We have come to the conclusion that, while the game is selling well, the price of the game is limiting the game's full potential reach.  Our target market for this game was not only hobby board gamers that are fans of BioShock Infinite, but also BioShock Infinite fans that are intrigued by hobby board games.  It is our conclusion that the price point of $84.95 is asking too much of a consumer that is unaccustomed to buying hobby board games. With this product, it has always been our great hope that it could introduce the board game hobby to the many video game fans.  We have decided that we would rather take a low margin and see this game in the hands of more new fans.  We feel that it is not only in our best interest but in the best interest of our partners and the board game industry as a whole.

Very very smart move. I may actually buy it now! It is the only plaid hat game I'm missing after all...

Glad to hear you're willing to take a hit to help bring more potential hobby board gamers in. I know a lot of video gamers that could become great board gamers too. Cheers on a smart and (I'm sure) difficult decision!

I have to point out that we game store owners get the short end of the stick here. Our purchase price for your product was based on the original MSRP. With the price cut we either have to sell the game at $20 ABOVE MSRP (thereby adding to the illusion that brick-and-mortar stores have unnecessarily high prices), or drop the price to the new MSRP and lose all of our margin as well.

Plaid Hat made a choice to take the loss, but game stores did not.

Hi KTPrymus. Please speak with your distributor. If you ordered 4 copies of the game when it launched we have made a free copy available through your distributor for you (game stores) to make up the price difference.

That's a nice gesture, Truth. We only ordered three copies however (none of which have sold). I'll speak with my distributor about it.

Same here. Bought 3 for my store and sold none yet since release even though I was listing them at 59.95$.. I guess I'll lower my prices again but I will probably sell them close to the price I paid for them.

Yeah. Gonna have to agree with KTPrymus. I only ordered 2 (because of the high msrp) One went into my store demo collection. When I opened it I said "yeah this aint an $80 game." I could even argue it isn't a $60 game. I usually think quality when it comes to PH games. This one you guys dropped the ball. I have already discounted this at a loss. Little late on this one guys.

Just to follow up. I talked with my distributor but they informed me that there is nothing they can do since I only pre-ordered 3 copies.

I am quite disappointed in Plaid Hat despite being quite happy with some of their other products. I will think twice about stocking their future games, however, unless my customers specifically request them.

They may have old information. Please feel free to loop me in on the conversation. My email is in the contacts section of the site.

Truth: I have 2 stores, each of which preordered 4 copies. I asked ACD when we would be getting our price-drop-offset copies, and they responded:

"Once we get the free copies from Plaid Hat, I'll have a free copy for
each store."

This was on 27 November 2013.

What is the status of this? ETA for delivery?
