Rob Daviau Developing Game for PHG

Visits the podcast, discusses game design and the next Legacy game

You haven't listened to this week's Plaid Hat Podcast yet? What are you waiting for? Episode 77 features Rob Daviau, legendary game designer, and a special announcement!

Rob Daviau has worked for Hasbro for the past 14 years and has managed somehow to get some incredible games out the door there despite being at a mass market-focused, publicly traded company. Here are some of his highlights that you probably never knew were his creations (often as a co-designer): Heroscape, Betrayal at House on the Hill, Risk Legacy, Risk: Revised, Risk 2210 A.D., Star Wars: Epic Duels, Axis and Allies: Pacific, Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Game, and Star Wars: The Queen's Gambit.

Rob is now a freelancer, striking out on his own. He joined the podcast to discuss game design, game marketing, and how in the world he ever got Risk Legacy published. Colby also announced that Rob will be working with Plaid Hat Games to have some of his designs published. Wow! Although we're at least two years out from that, corralling Rob Daviau for the design stable is impressive. According to the podcast, in theory, Rob's first game for Plaid Hat Games will be a "Legacy"* style game.
