Thread: recruitment question

  1. #1

    Default recruitment question

The rule-book says, 'If the player who declared his intent to recruit is outbid, it is still that player’s turn. That player selects a different gang member to attempt to recruit. He continues to do this until he has successfully recruited a gang member.'

My question is, MUST I try to recruit a new gang member until one is successfully recruited, or can I decide to take another action instead (e.g. I do not like the gang members left, so I decide to move instead). Thanks for any comments in advance!

Part of the strategy involved is knowing when to recruit. When you declare the recruit action you have to recruit, regardless of which member you manage to snag.
The night's shadow exists, not sleeping at all,
The toil of the light is its only call,
Behind the scenes lurking with shadowy gall,
Its face never showing; height never too tall.

Without a cry wherein dissent finds respite,
The multitudes safer in the billowing light,
More likely than not to strike evil at night,
Then silently vanishing to be out of sight.

thanks for the answer, I jumped to the same conclusion, so played it that way. Great game, just learning its ins and outs.
