    Default More living doll stuff....

This came up in our last gaming session.
    The living doll ability says
"X = the number of wounds, or remaining life whichever is less"
So, if a Doll receives 3 (or more) wounds - how much damage is dealt via Pain Link? The life value is now 0 - which is less than the three (or more) wounds - so logically it should be 0 damage.....which sounds stupid even to me. Therefore I suspect that damage is still dealt - but what is the official ruling and what is the process/reasoning on this?

You read it wrong. Pain Link deals damage equal to the "damage dealt, or this Unit's Life Value, whichever is less". Life Value - not "remaining" Life Value.

So an unaltered Living Doll's Life Value is 3, no matter how many wounds are on it. Put a Charm Die on it and its 4. Put Undying Heart on it (no charm die) and its 5, etc.

So let's say the Doll is unaltered and has 2 wound markers on it. Your opponent attacks with an Iron Rhino and targets your Doll. You block and use Pain Link. Pain Link would deal 3 damage, because the Doll's Life Value (3) is less than the damage dealt (5).

And by the way, you're better off getting into the Ashes Online facebook group, or the AshesRules Slack Chat to ask rules questions. Otherwise I doubt anyone but me will see them, and I'm not even that good at Ashes rules (though I'm getting better).

Just be careful of stuff that add wounds instead of dealing damage.

For instance, Molten Gold just nukes a Living Doll, and Pain Link doesn't get to trigger. Body Inversion also nukes Living Dolls.

Thanks I already understood about the difference between damage and wounds - it's a useful one!
