    Thanks for the answers, good to know I was on the right lines.

    I think it's okay to just remember, but doing the perching the opposite way round seems like a really good solution, think I'll give that a go. Thanks for that suggestion FixingKitty!

    I've tried multiple ways to denote a perched bird. I prefer to just use a spare token on the unit card and remove it when the bird enters launch position. Its not as visually satisfying, but it does help cut down on the bumping and accidental shifting of other units.

    This question might seem irrelevant, but for the purpose of custom unit and action cards, i was wondering. What is the proper term for the three protrusions on the front of a bird base?

    I have also just taken to keeping it tilted back, and declaring when it is taking off.

    The closest I could find is that is called the 'raised line' of the birds base. It was listed in the explanation of what to do when assembling a flight path.
