Default What do you rate your games?

I rate all the games I own and I even rate games I have played when I am not lazy. Here's my BGG rating list if you are interested link

Bottom line is, I rate 3 games out of 100+ games a 9 or 10. Those being Heroscape, Last Night on Earth and Summoner Wars. I've actually been slacking on my BGG list the past 2 months, so I might be around 140 games played and still nothing matches those games.

I have a lot of games that I rate a 7 and those are the ones that I enjoy.
I rate about a dozen games an 8 and those are the ones I really like.
Only 3 games are in the 9 - 10 area and those are the ones I love.

If you own or play any other games, which ones do you rate 9 or 10?

I really try to follow the description of the ratings given when you move the cursor over it. I think some games can earn 10s, and I'm not afraid to give good ratings, or bad ones, to games I don't like.

Thing is, I usually buy games I like, after careful reads of the rules and/or games played. So not much of my collection is under 6-7. I don't tend to rate games I don't own.

I just read all your rating Airdrop, I see your taste is very similar to mine, also I see you have Ascension and Yomi, both of which I totally diggs...

We really should get some game going beside SW next time!

edit; oh btw what you have in Yomi? I am also trying to get Calvin to play Ascension and Yomi but I only have 1 set for Yomi and it's not even the best to teach with...

My friend owns Yomi, I don't have it yet. I am hoping to trade for it, it's a little expensive... (talking about the complete edition) It's like 100 bucks on the designers website, my friend is trying to sell me his for 85... I am thinking about it.

We should play some Ascension though, that game is pretty good.

I still gotta wait until the Summoner Wars Master Set hits MeepleMart, since I traded mine away.

I play a lot of yomi online, btw (nick PePeQu on the server).
If you are thinking about the Set full set, know that the new print is only sold by GameSalute (sp) so it's hard to get it now for less than MSRP (that is, no other online game store has it now).

Serious...? Damn it, I was about to get the whole set soon or later... $100 is quite a bit of a commitment.

Would I miss much if I were to get every set on each own? Aside from the mat?

and yeah, Ascension is surprisingly fun once the second set is introduced.

OTOH, you can still get some of the first printing used a bit cheaper, like

I would say go for it if you have 3-4 friends that will play it a lot and you wouldn't mind sharing a deck or two from time to time so they can learn it. If not you may be better off with the 1 set you have (don't which one is though).
