I hate to disappoint the Sand Goblin fans out there, but I just lost a game to ejboyd's Jungle Elves. It was due to a the tried and true SW mechanism of "playing against someone who is better at Summoner Wars than you are." Luckily it's not over for Krusk and the gang!

Having Rune Mages in my deck definitely hurt that game, as I was forced to summon one as a blocker, and they're just not very good for fighting etc. On the other hand, having Etch helped Abua a lot.

Ejboyd went the etch route! nice.

I generally only use 1 or 2 rune mages in m krusk deck, just to be a threat, but not enough to ruin my standard strategy.

I think RMs cause losses because of that more than they cause wins for siphoning. People just don't remember those games as much.

Also, Brock, stop making me sad. I was hoping for a filth shutout. Oh well.

I think, for those that know me, this is a first. I really want to win this tournament. I'm legitimately surprised I'm doing this well, especially when I wasn't paying attention in my second round match and missed my opponent playing two events.
The night's shadow exists, not sleeping at all,
The toil of the light is its only call,
Behind the scenes lurking with shadowy gall,
Its face never showing; height never too tall.

Without a cry wherein dissent finds respite,
The multitudes safer in the billowing light,
More likely than not to strike evil at night,
Then silently vanishing to be out of sight.

I honestly hope you didn't put real money on me winning the tournament. People seem to have forgotten my dice luck.

I've updated the first post with the Round 3 matchups!

There's still some very interesting and balanced matchups happening despite the swiss rounds. Does anyone have any factions that they're surprised at the records currently portrayed?
