I have just a quick note for you all heading into the weekend regarding the newly announced BioShock Infinite: The Siege of Columbia board game by Plaid Hat Games. Colby has been interviewed by The Verge and the interview reveals some new details regarding the game.

Rather than duplicate the video game's experience, the board game will put you in the same universe and timeline, but in control of one of the two major factions vying for control over the sky city of Columbia. Individual characters seem to still be present as Booker and Elizabeth can affect what is happening.

Just from reading the article, the game sounds to me like an epic, thematic battle game with several large-scale struggles and dynamics going on simultaneously.

I'll post more details as soon as Colby hands them over here on the Web site. Until then, read the article at the Verge.

(Hat tip to Setharillius for mentioning this on the forums first.)

Colby says it best in the article:

"No one involved was interested in recreating the video game experience in a board game."

I think what will help to set this game apart from a lot of other 'video game' themed boardgames out there is that this game also works as a companion piece to the 'Bioshock Infinite' video game. Helping to expand that world not only in the way the boardgame is presented, with the story and mechanics employed, but also in the experiences the players themselves will have while playing.

Ha ha!
"I'm Setharillius and I approve this message... er game."

Anyway, this looks pretty cool. I have no prior experience with bioshock, so it might not be an instant pre-order for me, but I'm sure they'll make it incredible!

Is this the originally titled "city of remnants" that you guys kept talking about, or a totally separate game?
