You forgot Filth Cultists. Same idea: they have range, buit decent drawbacks. Melee 0-costers got decent abilities in return. This reminds me, I need to start a 0-coster thread.

I like boith oif these guys. Stink should sit in a corner, and just reroll any miss dies. Not a bad guy at all. I'd like one less magic cost, but I still think he is decent as is. I really like bombers as replacements to scavengers. They save me magic for SS, and if they miss they my opponent ghets no magic from them. 6's are just gravy.

Hm... How about a range themed SG deck? Javelineers/Bombers/Shamans with Stink helping out the bombers the whole while. Splash in Biter and Kreep and go crazy defense common heavy... Maybe even pay for Shamans' escape and go for a magic denial strategy.

Scavengers allows you to have board control and advance your whole front as you start messing with Krusk/Silts- Bombers seem to give you no board control but defensively deny magic. So I'm guessing the SG needs to make a new deck type to use them properly.

    Stink... I don't like Bragg and I don't think he's any better.

I was on the side of loving him. So this Stink won.

Forgive me if this has already been cleared up, but what happened when a Bomber attacks a Smasher? Does he automatically attack again?

Good question, but the answer is straight forward: the Bomber would not roll the dice, so he'd automatically give the Smasher 1 wound. He has not rolled a 6, so he cannot attack again. OTOH, he has not rolled a 1 or 2 either, so he does not get discarded either.

The Bombers remind me of Wile E. Coyote. i can just picture one of them gluing a lit stick of dynamite to his hand or something... At least, if they get discarded, that could mean denying magic to your opponent, which is good.

Stink looks... interesting, he stays behind a Wall or something and snipes at anyone who another goblin is attacking. His power lets him use his 1 attack die on any targeted unit, regardless of range/los and without taking up an attack. Cool, but Sorgwen essentially does the same, and she's better at it. Still he could help out Kreep or a Scavenger (or sandstorm) in a situation where one die roll is critical. All in all though: Cool unit, yes. but with 4 awesome champions already available (not to mention Mercs), I doubt he'll see much play in my deck.

    Default Consider the following.

People that think the discard upon missing thing is a negatve are forgetting that missing with a 1 life unit very often results in it getting killed next turn. With the bomber, you're guarenteed to lose him but your opponent is denied magic.

I like them. Like Heroscape, not everything has to be super competitive. These guys look fun and that's how I'll use them. I'll be the guy running Khan, Stinks, Vermin, and Bombers trying to find as much use as I can for Stinks.

I have yet to try this out, much like the rest of you non-playtesters. However, I'm surprised how fast some are dismissing Stink. How many times during a game do you think, "Well, I could move these two guys here and do these three attacks... That would totally swing the game in my favor.... IF it works." Now you have a huge extra boost to get that die result you absolutely need.

Here's some basic math with Stink:

Let's say you're rolling 7 dice against a 5-life champ (let's say Laleya). You want to take out this champ before she does some serious damage, so you're taking a risk, pulling all 3 attacks to kill one unit. You only have a 57.06% chance of defeating her (hitting on 5 out of 7 dice). 25.6% of the time, you will hit her exactly 4 times, cursing your luck that she barely hangs on and gets another solid 3-attack against you. So that means that Lucky boosts your odds of killing Laleya to 74%, without even taking up an attack.

Say you're trying to take out Sorgwen (3-life) in one shot... But you can only spare 4 dice to hit her with. Normally you'd have a 59.3% chance of killing her. You roll exactly 2 hits 39% of the time. This means that Stink boosts your odds of killing Sorgwen to 78%. (!!)

What if you only have one die to roll and need to deal one damage? You're effectively rolling two dice, getting an 89% chance to kill the 1-life unit instead of a 66% chance... And you get this benefit EVERY TURN without ANY expenditure of resources post-summon.

How about if you're rolling 4 dice vs. a unit with 4 life left? Normally only a 19.7% chance of killing the unit, but Stink boosts your odds to 46%. (!!!)

You'd normally never Sandstorm your own Shaman to get him into position due to the fact that you'd kill him 50% of the time... But with Stink, you get to reduce the odds to 25%. PLUS if you get lucky on the first roll and the Shaman survives, you can use Lucky later in the turn instead (no commitment until you need it).

Yeah, I like him. Sand Goblins continue to be the coolest faction in the game.
