Thread: Summoner Wars for the iPhone/iPad?

Is there any official thread to report bugs? It happened to me that I unfroze a frozen unit during the attack phase (after collecting two magic points with my first two attacks) but then couldn't use the just unfrozen unit to perform the third attack.

Also, I think the AI needs a lot of love.

Anyone know why I would keep forfeiting games? I take my turn, wait until the little box on the side switches to the opponent, and then shut the app down until its my turn again. Next thing I know I get a notification saying its my turn, but then my game is gone as I have a forfeit and a loss. Am I not closing down correctly or something and my timer runs out?

The AI can be pretty tough sometimes. It is very very good at Magic management and always seems to summon all of its champions. What it is bad at is planning ahead and taking the special abilities of creatures into account. What an incredibly difficult (impossible?) coding job that would be!!!

Then there's the weird stuff... Like casting Herioc Feat on a unit that has no target to attack, or casting Spirit of the Phoenix on Elian and then attack a one wound unit.

I suppose those are just artifacts of the super complex coding necessary. I'm not a coder so I don't know.

All in all I think Playdek has done pretty well with the AI.

I find it pretty tough sometimes, but usually just the first one or two times I've played with a faction / deck. It definitely does strange things, especially when it just has the summoner remaining. Once Grognak kept using Ice Wall turn after turn, despite the fact that I wasn't adjacent to his walls, and he didn't move, despite a ranged attack unit sitting right in line of site, pinging away each turn.

If it is your turn to play, the your clock runs whether you are on the app or not. When the clock runs out you forfeit. Are you games short (15 mins-1 hour)? Try 1 day or longer games.

So having plenty of fun thus far, although I maybe should've spent more time playing the AI first. Not that I'm not feeling good enough to be able to beat others, but I do keep making just mistakes in clicking and other things.

Like especially Chant of Growth. It's SOOOOO easy to accidently use Abua to CoG if you are trying to attack your own guy. Did that way too many times in my recent games, and that's a pretty big shift in magic and stuff. Ah well, it's been tons of fun thus far.

Looking forward to continuing to get games in, and hopefully start getting a nice W/L record. Right now I'm just saddened by how it's going haha.

I was getting to the point where I was almost against the undo button a lot of people are asking for, then I switched from my iPad 2 to my iPhone. Once I started playing games on my iPhone I could definately see how an undo button would be useful.

I have played the AI a lot, around 50 games so far. It seems erratic in the early and mid game, sometime playing efficiently, sometimes not. It seems weak on the end game both protecting its summoner and going for the kill when it has opportunities.

I didn't have the original 4 factions until recently and haven't had a chance to play them until the app came out. I suck at cave goblins and they don't fit the play style I prefer, still I am going to have to play them until I at least become competent with them.

So far I have had a lot of fun with the app. I mostly played the master set and the jungle elves with the board game, so I'm getting a chance to log a bunch of games with factions I had never played or hardly played. I just hope Playdek eventually strengthens the AI, especially the endgame.
