Default These Are the Droids You're Looking For

The Droids running Summoner Wars of course. PlayDek confirmed with BGG's news crew that they are working on e game for Android. I hope there is some way that you can use stuff you purchased on iOS on your Android.

Just received a very nice email from Gary at play dek telling me that it will most likely be the end of the year or later before the android version is available. He says the hangup is in their servers, because they need to make the game cross platform, so android players can play IOS users, and the IOS version is tied so tightly into the game center. I thought it was really cool that he replied to my inquiry so quickly (within an hour of my original email) with actual information instead of corporate speak. A classy organization I can't wait to start giving my money to.

Any update on Andriod timeline? Loving SW but wife doesn't play nearly often enough for me to get my full fix. =)

Oh man, if I could plan on my phone instead of my wifi-only iPod, my productivity will be shot.

Default Android version of Summoner Wars

It is good that they WILL do an Android version. These Americans can be crazy sometimes. Android is the biggest OS in mobile phones by far, so I think it would be stupid not to do the Android version. But because iPhones are expensive, people who buy them must have money to spent on the apps also?! Or?

As the graph show Android has over 60% of the market and iPhone goes somewhere in the 20% line. I wonder why people speak mainly of iOS Board Games, or maybe BGG and the forums I go are Americans and the market share of iOS is much higher there?

Well, too bad. I just bought an iPhone just to play Summoner Wars. I thought I'll never touch an Apple product, but...

My understanding (which could totally be wrong) is that by developing for the iOS, you instantly gain access to all iDevice users, whereas the variety of different Droid makers means that you aren't guaranteed to have your Droid App port from one hardware platform to another without additional effort.

Anyone who knows more than I care to comment?

Yeah, programming for Androids is a huge pain for developers, because there's just so many different screen sizes, processing powers, etc. With iOS there's iPhone and iPad and that's it.

I have an android phone, but bought an iPad almost exclusively to play iOS games.

Psh, we Americans aren't insane. We're so far out of Sane that you appear as a tiny blip on the island of sanity.
