    Default AHiB Improvement

I know A Hero is Born gets built a lot in games, and is almost an auto-build for many players. I understand it's situational, but it definitely has its purpose. Like if you're running Magos or Holleas, you may want them out early. And I think when more champs are released that are useful in early game or good to get out quick this card will be played more often.

I've been thinking, what if you could play units during your event phase during AHiB? Snag a hero, and immediately play it. Or put down a wall, then use AHiB to delay your summoning a phase like you can with Summoning Surge, and spawn the champion or other units. Too powerful? It could be limited to just the searched champion.

Just curious as to what you guys think. Like I said I know this card has its times to shine, but what if it had more weight to it?

Nah, I rather not the factions who have it be buffed further. GD, PE etc already have a lot of advantages on their plate at the moment.

That is true. I'd rather not have those factions buffed. I could see something like this for the Benders' AHiB:

    - Search your Draw Pile for a Champion Card. You may immediately summon it without paying its Summon Cost if the number of cards in your Discard Pile is equal to or higher than triple that Champion's Summon Cost.

The night's shadow exists, not sleeping at all,
The toil of the light is its only call,
Behind the scenes lurking with shadowy gall,
Its face never showing; height never too tall.

Ah, I didn't even think about that. I agree haha, they are strong enough.

An improved BD's one is cool.

so you want to give the GD a Wall+AHiB+Champ+HF(x2) combo? the PE same but with Precise? Or instant Rukar in summoner's face.
Playing a lot of VG lately, I use almost always use this card if I get the chance to do it, even with a champ (or without SS) in hand. And the Benders do like it too when they want to get Sorgwen out (or Kalal in weird-o-world).
I'm actually thankful that there are some factions that don't have it, like the DD (Lun, Sprog) or SO (Etch). Really for this type of card, right now it has the best metagame you can ask for it: useful for the less successful factions and situational for the top ones.

Once upon a time I did think of a variant to make it useful when it's in the bottom of your deck, same intent as tns variant, but now you have more uses for magic at the end game.

Could just cut to the chase and not even pretend.

    "Magic Point Card.

Build this card for one Magic at the end of the turn."

The concept has been toyed with in other decks, like with Chant of Salvation, Mutagist, Superior Planning, etc...

Like glenn, I don't think the decks that have it need much help, except maybe the Vanguards, but they also stand to use it pretty well often. I like getting Leah or KQ early for them to get SS ready for later.

I use it as the Vanguard pretty often, as my entire game often rests on champion play. It becomes a near must if facing something like the Cloak's Spy. But they have summoning surge and good survivability, so I feel like they can play champions pretty easily if they want to. I also use it in my TO decks to get Bragg in play early. But yeah, most of the time it goes in the magic pile.
