Thread: I have lost every game against the Filth - any tips?

In my experience the filth likes to make it seem like you're winning but then pulls a bunch of shenanigins and noms your summoner when your not looking. My best advice is don't let your guard down and keep a lot of heavy pressure on the demegoug. But, be sure that your summoner is safe from things that like to one-shot it.

HUh. My experience with Filth has been a bit different then that. I think of them as one of the best end game factions. If they can hold off that initial rush before they get their mutation machine going, they have the tools to beat alot of factions. Factions who work great against them in my experience can screw with their hand (Benders) or target mutations one by one (Phoenix Elves)

Well, duh. It would be pretty dumb if they had a more swarmish strat, since you could possibly take out 4 mutations, half their toolbox, and 4 magic!

I don't understand what you're trying to say. Can you clarify?

Hmm... Swamp Orcs look quite interesting, you can move two commons with Ensnare and thus quite easily create good Mutation traps. And Savagers look quite interesting also, when mutants come to attack them there is 33% change that the Mutations are discarded. I got to try them out.

So Benders, Cloaks, Swamps Orcs, Phoenix and Jungle Elves...

My best game against them was with Benders. I managed to surprise the Demagogue, moved him with a Controller from behind the wall to Sorgwen's shooting range and then the next turn I managed to shoot him twice (with help from Sorgwen) with the Controller. The Demagogue was down to one life, but my opponent managed to protect him with a new Wall and his units and finally I ran out of cards and he crushed me with his Mutations and Hulgorad. And by the way, I also Magic Drained him twice... Maybe I suck, or maybe it was just my unlucky dice rolls against the Corpulent Mutant what turned the game...

I lost enough games in a row now, so my next game will be against the basic Vanguards deck (and Kalon Lightbringer replaced with Khexhu).

But after that I could try Swamps Orcs or Elves against the Filthy gang. Cloaks have Assassinate and Thieves to steal the mutations cards from the opponents hands, Scrappers to gang up and kill mutations... That could also work. And oh, they have Magic Drain too.

Depending on which faction you are playing, I find this "trick" is difficult to pull off. Often the Filth players I encounter will play at most 3 commons, switching the Mutations if they find there are going to be killed or for positioning reason. It is rare to find them playing more than 3 commons. So not sure how long do I have to hold on to the Magic Drain.

Also, you could combo Hawk and Vlox to hit a Filth common. And with Cloaks they have the powerful ranged attack of Sniper (which can also be copied by Vlox) which may put fear in Filth.

I crushed Filth with Cloaks last night. Admittedly, my opponent didn't play them to full potential (she underutilized Mutagist), but it was a very lopsided contest.
