First game character choices

I'm going to purchase Dungeon Run soon, so I'm thinking about the first game, when I introduce the game to my family. The obvious question is which characters to give them. I'm probably going to let my father play the Tundra Orc. My mother will probably play Emma (she always likes female characters). That leaves the question of my younger bother and me. He's not too big on the whole strategic thinking business. Which prayer or skill character could I give him?
Another possibility is letting Mother play the Phoenix Elf, and my brother the Filth necromancer.

What are your suggestions on first game picks?

Being someone that hasn't completed a full game, I'm not sure if I'd be the best help, but I'll try.

If your father takes Vargagg, and your mother takes Emma, I'd suggest giving the Phoenix Elf Ranger (forgot how to spell her name). If I recall correctly, she isn't a Prayer or Skill-type Hero, but her abilities are the easiest to grasp.

There is no Skill, but Paelleall is a Talent character with good, fairly simple abilities.

The Filth Hero is rather risky, and so is Birodin at times. It's a nice mix of characters that also can hold their own as well as cooperate.

We ended up playing these characters:
Dad: Stabbins
Mom: Emma
Brother: Vargagg
Myself: Birodin

I decided it would be be more important to my brother to roll lots of dice. Dad liked Stabbins, so I took Birodin. Mom took Emma as planned.

And what were the thoughts about the game? Or that was not the first time played?

First, I played one game with four characters by myself. I had to familiarize myself with the rules, since I wold be teaching everyone else. My friend, Jared, joined me for my second game, but since there were only two of us, we both played two characters. Another time, Jared and I tried to play with one of my brother's friends, but she had to leave in the first five minutes. Then I played a short version with Jared and two other guys at the Origins PHG booth. So this will be my first full-length four-player game.
