Default The Book of Demon Hands

    The Book of Demon Hands
Champion of the Mercenaries - Reinforcements 3: Piclo's Magic

Bio: Unscrupulous summoners have many resources at their disposal. The most nefarious option is the Order of the Children of Vache, a society of demonic assassins who charge no gold for their services. This frugality makes the Order a tempting prospect for many, even if the price is a portion of a summoner's soul.

I tried putting these guys in a Vanguards deck. I forgot that I was fighting against Cloaks. I became sad.

Yeah, Scrappers can really gang up on them, and they can Assassinate the others. To be used with caution, though the same can be said of Demon Hands in any deck.

I believe when playing Demon Hands in your deck, you really have to look at which factions you are up against. Definitely Cloak can pose a problem when Demon Hands is played.

Also, players should be wary with PE because of their Burn, Greater Burn, and the ability of its units and the Spirit of the Phoenix event card to deliver automatic wound without rolling any dice. In addition, players have to be careful when up against a CG player who has Mook in the deck as it can easily destroy Demon Hands using Eater.

I think to some extent, players have to to be cautious when up against JE when using Demon Hands. If the player is using Gorillas and Elephants, they can easily kill Demon Hands with their abilities and attack value (which can also be boosted by Abua Shi's Chant of Growth).

Personally, I would put a maximum of 3 Demon Hands in my deck. This provides me with the flexibility to summon other units to deal with the opponents' faction when their units or abilities are a significant threat to the Demon Hands' survival.

I have a question about Dark Pact:
Is Dark Pact triggered by any movement, even outside of normal movement during movement phase?
For example does SG's Sand Storm or DD's Kynder ability trigger Dark Pact?

    Thank for answer

I think you can indeed use his ability before any kind of movement. However, I also think you must be the instigator of the movement, because of that "you" in the Demon Hand's text.

Nope. The common's ability is replaced with the Mutation's ability, so you don't need to worry about losing life when Rebuking an opposing Demon Hand.

Same thing for discarding it for whatever reason too, like Into Darkness. Summoner only loses life if the Demon Hand is destroyed.

As for using these guys, I've been running 4 of them with Tordok in the Guild Dwarves...and that's a pretty nifty combo I've got to say. With reinforcements to get them out, and Tordok to back them up, also with a Defender here and there, and Gror and Baldar still providing some great beefy champs, the Demon Hands can really work and not feel like too much of a negative since Oldin isn't really a fighter anyhow. It obviously struggles against dumb groups who are going to Taunt, Into Darkness, Ensnare, or in other ways removed Tordok's protection, but when it is together it works well. One of the few cases where I can see Demon Hands being worthwhile.
