The Cave Of Doom

[Arutha]

I hope you all like this game.

The Rules
All creatures have hp, atk, and def. Def is subtracted from atk, remainder converts to damage and is subtracted from health.

There are 5 of you, who are the players. Each had 5 hp, 1 atk, and 1 def.

Players vote among themselves and choose a Captain. The Captain has +1 hp, +1 atk, and dibs on all items found in the dungeon
You can make your case for why you should be the Captain, but you can’t vote for yourself!

Players can move up to one room on their turn AND make an attack or take another action of similar complexity
(throw a switch, talk to a monster, etc). They can move into an additional room at the cost of their action, provided that they don’t visit two unexplored rooms in one turn, and provided their progress isn’t blocked by a hostile monster or trap or locked door.

Whoever posts first acts first. If two people want the same item, whoever posted first gets it. Unless one of them was in another room of course. Loot that drops from defeated encounters is doled out first-come-first-served also, but players who didn’t participate in the encounter have to wait for those who did before they can claim anything. And the Captain has dibs on one item per turn in the same room as him.

A player who dies can give one of his items to any other player, but thereafter his corpse cannot be moved or interacted with.

Remember what your elders have taught you; clever tactics and use of the environment can tip the scales in your favour. Logic applies! Don’t just kick that monster, gouge out his eyes! Hit him where the sun don’t shine! That’ll do more damage!

Some more fiddly bits. Players can attack other players thow it is not recomended. If you don’t state an action, you don’t take one. If you need to take an extended absence, please let us know and designate another player (or non-player!) to temporarily take your actions.

The Cave of Doom is an ancint necropolis. To prevent grave robery the creators flooded the tombs. They also created magic masks to breath under water. When Ret-Talus atacked they caused a cave in to stop him. Now a cult has tuneld in and found great artifacts. Now you, an Adventurer plan to come home with gold and artifacts. the Rush for the cave has begon

Our intrepid heros enter The Cave..... Of DOOM

(Not taking an action, just getting the ball rolling) "Wow, big cave. Really big. But I think the captain should go in first, 'cause I'm not. I'm staying right here, where its nice and safe." Joy eyes the others nervously, not even sure of who they were-yet. "Anywho, my name's Joy, a Shadow Elf Ranger."

OOC: Sorry I'm late, I meant to come on yesterday, but I was busy.

A Pheonix Elf runs into the entrance of the cave debonairly, turned, and bowed with a slightly mischievous grin on his face.

"Greetings, fellow brave souls. I would like to introduce myself. I am Raselm. I will be your clueless tour guide on this trip. Here we have the entrance to the Cave of Doom. When people enter, screams will soon be heard, or so I've heard. Hi, Joy! Since a lovely lady asked me to, I shall proceed first. Let me just light my torch..."

Raselm wips out a large, burnt stick with a rag wrapped around the end he wasn't holding. He adjusted some nearby rocks and propped the torch against them. He then brought out his flint and tinder and started making large sparks next to the rag, trying to set it alight. It didn't work multiple times. After a few minutes of trying, Raselm moved in such a way as to block the others' view of the torch. A popping sound reminescent of a cork rang out, and a little bit of a dripping sound. Raselm then tilted his head back a bit, and, after moving again, finally lit the torch.

"Shall we?"

He steps into the cave.

Joy looked at Raselm. "Well, since you went first, I suppose I shall follow. In I go." She steps into the cave after Raselm.

[Arutha]

Yes it looks like Raselm is the captin

[Deceit]

It is time to begin, so allow me to assist...

The Gem Mage pulled out a small rock. After muttering a few chants it began to glow and floated directly in front of the Mage.

The dwarf followed the others in.

"Oh goody. Now we have three people. Isn't there two more to come?"

[Infection Reflection]

"Why yes, fair lady, we shall indeed be joined by two more noble characters...at least, I assume they're noble. Thank you, dwarf, I think you are the first dwarf I have ever actually liked. I don't usually like dwarves, but you're nice. Hi. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Raselm. You are...?"

[Deceit]

Skyge, a Gem Mage from the northern tribes...

"Hello, Skyge, its a pleasure to meet you. In case you hadn't heard, I'm Joy and he's Raselm."

"Hello, hello, hello! As captain, I must notice the other two are late. I put this question to vote: do we start without them, or wait for them? They are impossibly late, and I don't have the patience to wait for them."

A knight is never late, I was simply sidetracked by a fair maiden in distress. I have arrived exactly when I meant to, no sooner, ot later. Now, for those of you who don't know me, I am Sir Gilliam the Guardian Knight.

"Aaaah, damsels!"

Here Raselm emitted a heavy sigh.

"I need a horse. Damsels respond better to men on steeds. I need to learn to shoot on a horse in battle. And no, shooting on the back of a Phoenix is nothing like that. Phoenixs fly, and don't bob up and down half as much. However, I would still like to know whether or not we should wait for the last member of the expedition, since he has not arrived with the noble (I told you) Gilliam. Sir knight, I applaud you. You and I shall be like brothers, I think. We both have the same thing. Chivalry."

Here he winked at Joy while offering his hand to Gilliam.

Joy raised her eyebrow at the two "Chivarlous" men. "A damsel in distress? Interesting. I do agree with Raselm. Perhaps we should start without the other, as they have not yet arrived. Perhpas they shall catch up later."

peapole move around the room. the dwarf finds that allmost all of his stones are gone!!! But his trusty light stone is still there. allmost like all of you have the same stats right now for the first game. there is lots and lots of talking. not that talking is bad. in fact the talking has caused torches to pop out of the wall.

Joy looked at the torches and then looked at the chests. "Chests? That's a big no-no. I bet almost every single one of them are trapped. And what's the point of the torches? To throw at the trapped chests?"

Raselm had a big, slightly silly grin on his face when the torches popped out of the wall.

"Torches! An elf's best friend! Observe, if you will."

Raselm walked over to a chest. He gestured at it and tried to open it. It opened, much to Raselm's obvious surprise. He peered into the chest with squinting eyes.

(OOC: We should probably start without the Mouth, because he rarely comes on here.)

Joy backed away from Raselm nervously. "Oh no... please, don't let it be a trap..." She reached up and took down a torch, lighting Raselm and the contents of the chest...

Raselm suddenly pitched forward into the chest.

"AAAAAH!!!"

[The Ranger's Apprentice]

Joy pulled Raselm from the chest. "Oh, come on... please tell me you aren't dead..." She pursed her lips and layed Raselm down beside the offending chest and looked inside.

After Joy laid Raselm down a smile slowly formed on his face as he sat up and started laughing almost hysterically.

"Gotcha! Hahahahahahahahahaha! You ARE worried about me! Yay! Hah! I got a stick out of the chest, but I think it has a false bottom."

Still smiling, Raselm started poking around the bottom of the chest with the stick after giving Joy a wink.

Raselm laughed and continued to beat the chest with the stick.

Joy turned bright red. "Oh, you doofus. Here, give that to me." She held out her hand.

Raselm laughs and jumps up and down.

"Haha! You, Joy, may have the axe. I am not good with axes. I use bows. I have the priority on bows, but all else is free game, except maybe armor. I do believe we should attack the skels. You notice they gaurd a chest!"

Joy nodded her thanks to Raselm and eyed the ladder that would bring them up to the skeletons nervously. "Captain first. And I do agree with you on the bows, but if an axe is all we have, I suppose I must use it."

"Well that was unexpected. Here goes." Joy scrambles up the ladder and swings her axe at the nearest skeleton's head.

Raselm was extra brave...and smart. He sped up the ladder and swung his torch at the head of the nearest Skel.

"Hah! Burn! Burn in the fires of heck!"

Not much needs to be said. you murder the skeleton. Joy Takes 1 dameg as both skeletons gang-up on her. wate a minut both skeletons have 1 ATK.

Skyge has 4 gems left. Inles he investagates his bag he will pull a random one when gem blasting. wich would be fun:rolleyes:

"Owww." Joy fell down. "My, this-oww-is harder than I thought. Go ahead, Raselm, open the chest and see what's in it. Then we can go down."

Raselm stands protectively over Joy as the second skel approaches.

"Open the chest and leave you vulnerable to death and destruction? Over my dead body!"

With that, Raselm kicks the skel in the chest and hits it over the head with his torch.

Joy stood. "I'm fine! Don't worry about me!" She skipped over to the skeleton and chopped at its head with her handy-dandy axe. "Die, silly dead ones! Or are you already dead? DIE!"

[Infection Reflection]

Raselm approached the chest with a gleeful grin on his face and rubbing his hands together.

"Let's crack this bad boy wiiide open!"

[The Ranger's Apprentice]

Joy sent him a confused look. "Crack it open? But that might destroy the contents, and it may be the bow you were looking for! Wouldn't it be sad if you destroyed it?" Reluctantly, still fearing a trap, Joy joined Raselm.

[Deceit]

Skyge eyes the chest but decides that those two were enough.

I shall pass...

He then moves towards the deeper parts of the cave.

[Infection Reflection]

Raselm sighed.

"It was an EXPRESSION, Joy. You know, like an ugly face. I didn't literally mean to CRACK it open. Now, let's hope for pretty bows."

Still smiling, Raselm opens the chest, ready to leap away should the worst happen.

Joy backs away, waiting to see the item inside. She knew Raselm would show her, and until he took out whatever was in it, she would wait.

Joy held up the bow. "Ooh. I guess you'll want this, eh, Raselm? That's sad. Maybe we should head down and help Skyge." She gives the bow to Raselm and joined Skyge. "My name is Joy," she told the man with the dagger.

"Ah, finally, a bow!"

Raselm lightly hugs the bow, then grabs the arrows and runs back to Gilliam.

"Hurry up, Joy, Gilliam, we must catch up with the orc! He may get killed!"

Joy heard Raselm shouting and sighed. "Raselm, the Orc is half-way. Skyge the Dwarf and I are already down here with the other chests."

With that, Raselm continues running.

"I am there!" Joy sighed and turned back to the man with the knife. "If you would kindly move aside, Sir, then we can go on." She flashed him a brilliant smile, but only Skyge saw her clutching her axe so hard her knuckles were white.

Skyge doesn't talk much...instead he fires off a gem blast.

Joy swings her axe at the guy's head. "Raselm! Bring the other two down here! We need them! We'll have a full party on our hands soon!"

All right, you may vote for the actions of the knight and orc unless they post. I am sad this had to hapen but if you all dont act this turn you will be in danger. :(

With these words and other such encouragements bursting from his lips, he proceeds to shoot a thug in the head through one of the eyes and leaps, destringing his bow in the process and using it as a quaterstaff, bashing a second thug soundly over the head.

you murder one of the robed men. joy somehow aviods the spear hit, but knows that another one would hurt (read as when she took the hit erlire i made a fluke, it is fixed now.) the man with the daggers yells "we are peasfule, why are you atacking us. you may go by if you wish." that was easy. skyiges gem makes 5 gold. he has 4 gems left

Phoenix bow 3 ranged ATK. when you are readused to 0 HP the bow disintagrats and you gain 5 HP. +1 max HP for Phoenix Elves.

Skyge advances up to loot the chest weary of an ambush however, so he keeps his guard up...

Joy sent the man with the daggers a wary look. "If you are so peacful," she said, "then why do you have weapons? Hmmm?" (Do you mean I took more or I didn't take any?)

(Cool) "Um, hello, guys? Where are you? Why haven't you said anything?"

Raselm advances forward into the cave, keeping his eyes peeled and his bow ready. He feels slightly guilty about having killed a few of the "peacefully armed" dudes, but he got over it...mostly.

"Joy, you comin'? If I die, I want a pretty woman telling me everything will be alright. That's where you come into the picture. Please come with me?"

Here Raselm gives a weak, yet hopeful smile.

Joy winked at Raselm. "Of course I am coming. Staying behind with these 'peacefully' armed guys just doesn't strike my fancy." With that, she follows Raselm.

[Infection Reflection]

"I know just what you mean. You wanna hold the torch for me please? I can't see in front of me, and therefore I can't shoot in front of me, which in turn means I'm useless. And you've got an axe. So you're better in front. You wanna walk in front of me? I'll give you a kiss."

Raselm then winks and smiles hopefully.

Joy cocks her eyebrow at him as she takes the torch. "I don't know... I just had a crush on a guy who ended p betraying me. I don't think I'm ready to get into that kind of stuff again." Tell you what. We survive this, I'll think about it. Its just... if our people fight, we'll probably end up fighting each other. Get it?"

Skyge goes up and opens the chest to find… rope. Not like you will ever need this. Joy move forward on to the hidden pit trap and falls down in to a new room. The man in the robes says “oops did I for get to mention the pit of undead. That is why we have weapons, sometimes she makes flying undead.”

Joy looked up then at the red button. She looked at her torch. "Aha!" Backing away beside the wall, she blew the torch light out, narrowed her eyes to see the red button, and threw the torch at the button.

Skyge was bored, so he hopped down into the pit to blast some Zombies.

Raselm's reaction to Joy's fall was nearly instantaneous. He went from standing there to a full-on run in a second, and jumped into the pit, arrow ready for firing.

Joy jumped backwards when her two companions fell from the sky-literally. "Ah! Guys! I'm okay. I just kind of... fell."

Raselm walked to the button in the middle of the floor.
"What's this do?"
And promptly pressed said button.

our galent heros fall down the pit (jump, I totely ment jump:) )with the rope, with no way to get back up, into a pit that holds undead. joy tosses a torch at the buten and the hach gose away, the dwarf falls down the hole next to the goblin.

Raselm jumps down next to the stone goblin and immediately climbs on top of it for a better view of the surrounding area, bow ready. He watches keenly in case they are attacked by zombies.

"What is this statue here for, anyway? Maybe I'll keep it. It would make an excellent garden decoration...if I even had a garden."

(OOC: How do you claim the goblin? Do you just say "I claim the goblin?" If so, then I claim the goblin!)

Joy timidly climbed into the hole and went to the chest. "Here's hoping it won't blow up," she said, swinging open the lid.

to get the goblin you must claime him like IR did BUT it is a way for a new person to enter the adventure, not a henchman

Scrog the gobln was very
stiff, but he had just enpough enervgy left to move his mouth. He then said but 2 words "RELEASE ME". Then hewent bqck into statue form

Joy shrugged her shoulders and went to the goblin. "Hi there, sweetie. You ready to be whole again? I'll have you alive in a jiffy." She pulled the stopper off the potion and sprinkled some of it on the Goblin. "Raselm, my friend, please step off of him. Now, little goblin, I am Joy, the Elf standing on your head is my-err-friend Raselm, the mute Dwarf is Skyge, and the knight is Gilliam. He and his friend the Orc have not done much, but they're still there."

Scroc suddenly felt free, tha is except for the person on his his head. He then knocked vRaselm off of his head, and then went over to Joy and did vwhat allwhat all goblins do when they mean to thank someone, he spit on her.

Joy gasped as the spit hit her. "What the-" she wiped the spit off her. "Well, that was gross. Raselm!" She knelt beside him and tried to help him up. "Raselm, Raselm, are you alright?"
