When you place a wall, you may place it anywhere on your side of the battlefield. When you summon a unit, it must be placed in an empty space adjacent to one of your walls.

So if I place my wall at the front edge of my zone, I can actually summon a unit into the adjacent space in my opponent's zone? This is implied by the rules but never directly stated, so I thought I would ask.

That is correct. You can drop a wall at the front edge of your zone and then summon a unit into your opponent's zone.

This happens very often. Most of your walls end up getting placed at the edge of your zone pushing your summoning forward. The exception to this is when your opponent has a champion down in your Summoner's face and you use a wall to block them off or when you are facing an opponent that is either taking down your walls, or is likely to take down your walls (like the dwarves), and you place your wall back in a harder to attack position.
