Random assortment of noob questions

So here are some questions from a noob interested in the game:

-So it seems there's a new set coming, would this mean that the old sets (old starters and their races) will no longer be available?

-I want to sleeve my cards, I read that YuGiOh card sleeves should be good for that, the Ultra Pro sleeves, do they fit fully or leave a little sticking out?
(couldn't quite find the awnser quick enough sorry if its allready discussed).

And last but not least, what do you guys think makes summoner wars such a great game?

No, all all old sets should still be available, barring the occasional sold out issue.

No idea on sleeves, I'm not a "sleever".

What makes it a great game? That's a pretty personal question, for me, it combines the best of a CCG (portability, variety, speed/ease of play) with the best of a miniature game (feeling of directing armies to destroy your enemies). The rules are elegant and simple (my non-gamer wife quickly learned and continues to play Summoner Wars) and as games go, it's also affordable.

Oh yeah, and it's also really well balanced with a wide variety of armies to fit different playstyles. /endfanboyism

On the other hand, I will say if you like Eurogames, hate dice, and want abstract cubes marking strange symbols on the board, this game may not be for you. :-P

Since the first question was already answered I can answer question two. The Yu-Gi-Oh sleeves are perfect for the SW cards, there is a little space left on the inside of the sleeve but a suction power in the sleeve keeps the cards from falling out. Also the Max Protection sleeves work really well. I was drawn to SW because it was affordable in comparison to most other games. Plus I have always been a fan of startegy games and I think SW involves strategy.

So here are some questions from a noob interested in the game:

There are no plans to let older sets go out of print permanently. Stuff will sell out from time to time and you may have to wait for a reprint.

The Master set will be the best deal so far in the game, assuming you want most of the stuff. 6 factions and a mounted board for 50 is a good value.

On some of the sleeves a little is left on the end, but we're talking less than a millimeter.

There are an awful lot of choices to make in a game of its length, and the different sides and which faction ends up being the starting player makes for a different game every time.
