View Full Version : Mercenary question
Do mercenaries count as a part of your faction? For example, when using Gang Up, does Khan Queso add a die to a goblin Fighter's attack if he is adjacent to the target?

I'm assuming not, since he is still a "Champion of the Mercenaries." He's fighting for the Goblins, but he's not one of them.

No. He counts as a Mercenary.

It seemed silly to start a new thread for another mercenary question, so I'll ask it here. Could two opposing players field the same mercenary champion?

Absolutely. In fact 2 opposing players could field the same faction/deck. Thus (one of the reasons for) the recommendation for sleeving decks

That's what I though, just double-checking. Thanks Cav!

I have another one. Although we don't have any mercenary commons yet, I noticed while reading the rulebook that we are restricted to only 10 of any specific mercenary common, yet it also says that we may only have a max of 6 mercenaries at any time. So does this mean that we can only have 6 different types of mercenaries or only 6 total mercenary cards in a deck?

Only 6 mercs total. The 10 common rule doesn't really apply to mercs since they are already bound by a stricter rule.

Yeah I noticed that when I looked backover. Since it was talking about mercenaries right before that I thought it was referring to mercenaries in that sentance. Man and I thought that meant there could be a whole mercenary army...

Mercenaries are basically their own faction or a "neutral" faction, this is shown by their symbol on the back of the card which resembles the summoner's cost symbol. When you use that goblin horde event gang up is applied to anything that is from the cave Goblin faction the card will say one of these somewhere on the card.
Common of the *Cave Goblins*
Champion of the *Cave Goblins*
Summoner of the *Cave Goblins*
*Can be replaced with any other faction in other area's, just says Cave Goblin to correspond to the current question about the gang up event
If your mercenary says one of those he is affected, but i do not think any mercenary would ever say one of these or of any other faction.
