What wasn't established at that time was that Colby Dauch will be the guest speaker at the event, and will be hosting a Summoner Wars tournament!

Description Colby Dauch, designer of the breakout hit Summoner Wars,
will share his experience as a freelance designer and
self-publisher. Mr. Dauch won the Dice Tower Award for
Best New Game Designer in 2009 and his flagship title has
generated a lot of buzz in the gaming industry for its
elegant rules and thematic design. This is a Den Con
special event, so don't miss it! Q&A session will follow.

Game System Summoner Wars
Game Master Colby Dauch (Designer of Summoner Wars)
Time 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Players 4 – 20
Location 218
Description 5 Rounds - 1v1 - Bring your own deck, dice and wound
markers (Summoner Wars product will be available for sale
at the tournament table) - 44 Minute Rounds - Each player
will have 22 Minutes on a chess clock. The first player to
have their Summoner destroyed, or the first player to run
out of time loses the match. Chess clocks and battlefields
will be provided.
I imagine that is enough of a draw for anyone on these forums, but just in case, Den Con will offer a lot of other great events as well, and is completely free.
