The Book of Lioneer
Common of the Jungle Elves: Jungle Elves Faction Pack

Bio: No combat units better symbolize the blazing speed of the Jungle Elves than the Lioneers. These Elven warriors, mounted on the backs of the strongest of their trained lions can tear across the battlefield, ripping even the strongest Summoners to shreds.

When I seen these guys I was thinking there is no way I'm going to summon them most of the time. But they have become my favorite unit they have. most games I get 2 out and a Champ or 2.

I love these guys.

That's the great thing about lioneers. You don't have to get out a lot, all it takes is one or two to really put a hurting on your opponent :)

In addition to being powerful, they distract your opponent from a champion that may be creeping up on their summoner. If the Lioneer lives, then you can even use Chant of Deception to get a tronger unit in. And then the Lioneer can Ride back in and attack again!

Thats a pretty solid tactic. Charge the lion, CoD it for Miti Mumway, then charge it back in.

Except you can't use Chant of Deception until the opponent has an entire turn to kill the Lioneer. With only two life, I don't think many of them are going to survive more than a turn adjacent to a Summoner.

Or, to help keep him alive, summon Ru in such a way as to get the Lioneer in a new position to get to the summoner, move the Lioneer up in one of the corners of your opponenet's side of the board, then, next turn, (if he's still alive) CoD Ru with the Lioneer, then the Lioneer moves up, Ru attacks, (having not technically moved) Lioneer attacks, and if you improved one of the attacks with Abua's power, you are rolling 8 dice! No summoner in the game could survive the full power of this, and many would fall if you just missed one or two.;)

A decent tactic, one I just used yesterday in fact. But it was risky, I was relying on the fact that I would hit all if not most of my dice.

I prefer just to summon one have it attack the summoner then when he is dead move in another. And keep repeating til the summoner is dead. In order to use this correctly you must have all your walls so you can a Lioneer and it can reach the back row where ever you summon it.

Yeah, I can only see one problem with this strategy... it's too blasted EXPENSIVE!!!!!! Forget the champs, just fling Lioneers at the enemy. What's up with that? Do you hate all three champs the JEs have or something? I admit Shikwa is useless, but the other two are AMAZING!! What if you're facing Grognack? What then?

I admit Shikwa is useless...

Shikwa is at least my second favorite JE champ, quite possibly my favorite. Have you really tried her? For only 6 magic, she very nicely compliments Abua's various chants, similar to how Gror compliments Heroic Feat. So don't say "I admit Shikwa's useless," say "I don't like Shikwa."

Haha, point taken.:D However, to answer your question, no. I may try her, she's gotten a lot of hype...:p

yah, she may not look like much but with chant of growth she's got 4 firepower, so she's very useful IMO.

I finally got to try the Jungle Elves and my nephew got to see them for the first time against his Guild Dwarves. I gotta say that it took him longer to build his Dwarves deck with the reinforcements than the actual game did, just about. I went first and killed his dwarf straight away from my Lioneer and moved my Lionesses as well, then next turn I used my Event card to move Lioness's and Archer a couple spaces after my nephew was stealing my magic, putting 6 wounds on my wall with his event card and engineer. So I was able to get two lucky wounds on his Summoner with a lioness after booster her with my Summoner. So my following turn, I was cut across the board to get adjacent to his Summoner (who was adjacent to his wall) and I boosted the attack up to 4 with my Summoner. Being adjacent to his wall, I needed 4+ to wound and had 4 dice and he had 4 lives left. I rolled three 5's and one 4 to end the game. That was the fastest we've ever gotten one done. He didn't have magic early to Summon and after he finally got some, I killed his Summoner before he could use it. The Lioneer was nasty in combination with the JE Summoner.
