Well we've been told that after Jungle Elves and Cloaks hit and get their reinforcements that we'll get 8 all new factions!
Two so far have been strongly hinted at:
Benders- use some sort of mind "bending" magic, enemies of the Cloaks.
Misaoi- the tribal human enemies of the Jungle Elves, said to have betrayed the JE in Abua's bio.
based on the name Far Esta, I'm guessing the Benders have some sort of East Asian theme.
Also, its worth pointing out that all the factions have been released in pairs that have opposite themes (even if the faction they're released with is not their enemy). For example:
Fire v.s. Ice
Orderly v.s. Chaotic
Life v.s. Death
Technology v.s. Nature
this should give some clue as to what types of pairings and themes we will see in the upcoming factions, so what other classic opposites can anyone think of and what sort of factions could represent them?
Update: just read Sairook's bio, the Ornithians of Westernest could potentially be a new faction, it says they are secretive and isolated but wasn't that how the Jungle Elves were before they found their summoning stone?

Interesting. And who is this little "worm" that Ret-Talus intends on giving his second summoning stone to? i will note, however, that in Abua's bio, he was tricked into beleiving that the plainsmen had betrayed him.
The units released seem to have opposite strategies as well:
Automatic damage vs. lots of gambling on die rolls
Quantity vs. Quality
keep units alive vs. throw them away
movement-based vs. attack-based

I was under the impression that the "little worm" was Sneeks (he certainly fits the profile). Also, I don't think the plainsmens' betrayal was part of Abua's vision, the way he talks about it is as if it was something that had already happened.

There was no betrayal by the Misoia (however you spell it), Abua just simply believed (because that was the vision of sedru told him) that they had betrayed his people. They hadnt actually, he was just being misguided.

Lots of the Summoners received their stones through dreams and/or ghosts. Maybe someone's playing tricks on them all... but who?
And Oldin's bio mentions the 'Wild clans' of the Dwarves? Another possibility?

Quantity vs. Quality
Dwarves and quality? o.O...The Dwarves' starting set-up certainly doesn't indicate it, and 3 1-cost commons isn't exactly "quality" IMO.
Just some random ideas - perhaps a kyrie-like army or something, with lots of flight abilities, or a tribal/merfolk/whatever that focuses on debilitating the opponent's abilities?

I didn't think about that, it makes sense though if we have multiple factions of humans and elves. Personally I'd also like to see lizardmen and merfolk, also some sort of shape-shifter faction that's Native American based.
@Goblin King: Well even if they weren't enemies before I get the feeling that things might not be so smooth between them anymore.

A kyrie army would be hard to pull off, because you would expect them all to fly, and then they wouldn't have any other abilities. it would be like a Dugalla faction, where the only special ability would be 'Plague.'

i suppose you could have a faction of ornitharians. Some could fly, and others, like Sairook, couldn't.

Not all of them must be flying, though they'd probably have more than 1 flier, of course. Still, there could be variations on the "Greater Flight" ability - "Lesser Flight"?

All you would have to do is make a summoner who gives his army flight, lesser flight, etc.
Also, following the idea of opposites, an arabian army vs. a merpeople army?

Only problem is, when the summoner is frozen, his entire army's wings fall off.
