Krung : Area Effect Declaration

With Krung (Tundra Orcs) Question is: When you are attacking and you roll for Area Effect, must you declare who you are attacking before resolving the Area Effect roll?

Let's read the card together now:


Before attacking with Krung, roll a die. On a result of 4 or higher, all cards that are adjacent to Krung are affected by the attack.

By reading the card it is clear that no declaration is made. You're attacking with Krung so you roll a die before doing anything else. If it fails then you specify.

I didn't realize that was implicit, do other cards state a declaration must be made for Area Effect?

Target declaration happens when attacking, while Krung's ability triggers before attacking. Gror's Hammer Quake does work differently. To use his attack, you have to declare a target that he could legally attack with a normal Melee attack.
