On Baldar's card, his Shield Block says: "If an opponent fails to roll a Hit on every die for that attack, Baldar receives no wounds from the attack."
On Maelena's card, her Burning Blade says: "In addition to any wounds dealt by the attack, add 1 Wound Marker to the card being attacked."
If I am reading her card right, even if she rolls Misses on both her attack dice, the targeted figure still receives one wound. The confusion comes when attack Baldar. If she rolls a Miss, does he still receive a wound from Burning Blade? I've made arguments back and forth to myself and can't decide.

Baldar would still recieve the auto wound, the burning blade wound isn't part of the attack, it is in addition to the attack.

Thanks, Truth. That's what I was most often leading towards but just wasn't sure.

My brother and i have a question about Baldar's special ability
it says: If an opponent fails to roll a Hit on every die for that attack, Baldar receives no wounds from the attack.
is there a typo? because it seems rather redundant to state that if both die are a miss, he receives no damage. is it supposed to say "If an opponent fails to roll a Hit on A die for that attack, Baldar receives no wounds from the attack"?? We're both confused.

Mm. Basically if you're attacking with four dice and only roll three hits, then every single one of 'em misses. It basically turns everyone into a Shaman when attacking Baldar.
is it supposed to say "If an opponent fails to roll a Hit on A die for that attack, Baldar receives no wounds from the attack"?? We're both confused.
If you take this exactly the way you suggested, an opponent who rolls five dice but misses on two would not be failing "to roll a Hit on A die." The way it is written on the card covers all possibilities.

The key line is In Addition To. Burning Blade is not really part of the attack, it is just an Add On or an Addition to the attack. So Baldar will never recieve wounds from the original attack (the dice), Burning Blade is an automatic wound, so he would then recieve the extra wound, even if all the DICE are misses.
I am not quite sure about all this though.
