Sooo...Thanks to my Computer Imaging class this year I have to become better in Gimp and Photoshop. Why not make some Card Templates for this game?
Here's what I've got so far, after roughly 25 minutes of work. :D

Nice start Kaiser Cat. I'd love to have some templates but maybe we should make sure Truth is okay with this before going too far. This is his intellectual property and I could understand if he didn't want it out there.

That looks great, i've been wanting to put my customs into a card form. I'll have to mess around with some stuff and see what i can come up with.
Edit: I tried putting one of my customs into your template, here was my result...

I'm not really good with Gimp so it got a little messy at the name and range icon.

That is AWESOME.
My eventual plan is to make two sets of images: A set of blank cards, which would basically be what you see here, minus the attack number. Then there would be a symbol set, which would include the Arrow/Sword symbols, life tokens for each faction, attack numbers and, if I find the time, perhaps a SW font. But don't get your hopes up about that last part.

Cool stuff I'm still hoping they bring out a card generator like Magic has but for the mean time I can make my own.
Im sure truth will be ok with customs as long as no idiot trys to sell them or reduce sales in anyway.

The New Elf template is complete, as is the Guild Dwarf template. Champion templates are coming soon.

And here is the first draft of the parts template. Not nearly complete, but good.

Nice work I use Fireworks and Photoshop for my templates and can get a nicer cut but i cant seem to wipe the text as well as you can (The healing brush tool is hard to use).
Templates are appreciated.

I didn't use any kind of tool. I just copy/pasted clear sections to cover the text. If you look carefully at the abilities box you will notice it.

"ORCS WANT TEMPLATE TOO!"

Rejoice, people who use windows and have an allergic reaction to downloading better image editors! For these templates can be used with paint!

That one looks really nice. The customs take a lot of patience if you want to make them look good, I'm trying to finish up my dwarf custom. It could take some time, i tend to screw stuff up frequently on gimp...

Its not that hard just use my templates and SW bits images.
I used Photoshop and Fireworks (Photoshop is beter but harder to use).
Oh yeah and if your interested pleas check out my Custom Faction Ideas and comment.
I intend to put them all into card form later...(after my TAFE Course) so knowing which faction people prefer would be nice.

I still think my templates are better. They quite obviously are the real ones, while yours were made in Paint to make yourself look better.
(A.K.A. I'm jealous of your abilities.)

What about the templates for the unit and event cards? Do you have those that you would share with us?
Lord_AndraK
11-29-2010, 01:03 AM
On Page 2 of this thread is the Unit Template.
I shall add the rest of my templates here later...
on page 3 there is a rough event template (needs more work to look good)
However If you wish I can put all my templates in this thread...
actually i will put them all in this thread... but not right now.
Lord_AndraK
11-29-2010, 09:27 AM
Here is all my working components...:D
Use the Template bits to customize the templates...
eg In the Event Template: replace shield with Summoning stone in top left corner.
Change range ,blah, blah,blah... you get the idea.
If you don't have the software to edit the templates ask me and ill whip up the card for you (given time)
PS
I haven't gotten confirmation from Truth if my custom making is alright so i may have to take all this stuff down if he says.

Unfortunately I had to resize the images such that they are able to be posted...
Its a Max Width 620 X height of 280 or a Max file size of 19.5kb.
(Check Manage Attachements under advanced)
so no i dont think they are the right size :( but resizing isnt a issue for me.
The ones I have posted are a touch bigger...
(the bigger they are the better they resize)
Lord_AndraK
11-29-2010, 08:57 PM
This is about the right size when I printed them from my computer.
422 Width X 276 - 277 Height (the height is in between it seems)
the way i measured the size was i printed them off and lined em up against one another using a ruler, take into account the margin for Human Error (me).
Please tell me if i should adjust the size... as Im not going to resize and repost all my templates till i get confirmation that they are correct.
And if you do make any customs please post em so we can all see and tell post any battle reports using your customs in the Custom Battles Thread that i have made in the Battle reports section.

ill check those out as soon as i get the time. thanks for the effort
Kaiser Cat, or any of you other cats out there for that matter, :D, are you able to just get the faction symbols on one sheet or somehow by themselves? No card or text or pictures or anything else. I just want to be able to print the different faction symbols, if possible.
Thanks in advance if you can do this. :)
And sorry if it's already posted somewhere, I couldn't find it.

I have made two Card Maker templates through Photoshop and uploaded them to my deviantart account. I've already made three full Factions with them (Unversed, Heartless, and Nobody, all from Kingdom Hearts), and one of my Units can be observed as the preview image for the primary creation template, as well as one of my Events when the program is opened properly.
I don't really have one for Walls, because that was simple enough to just recolour an image of a Wall card I got from the "Factions" tab at the top of the page here. Wall Event cards are likewise not in the template, though I may bundle the two together if I ever make another.
Reference Card Template (http://shadic-x-hedgehog.deviantart.com/art/Summoner-Wars-Reference-Card-257344235)
Unit, Event, and Back Template (http://shadic-x-hedgehog.deviantart.com/art/Summoner-Wars-Card-Template-257343550)
I was really helped out in making these by this thread (especially Lord_AndraK's link) and the aforementioned "Factions" tab. If you have a DA account, let me know what you think there, and if you don't let me know what you think here!

Well, this is my attempt at using the templates you provided for King Salazar. In Paint:D
http://www.plaidhatgames.com/sum_forums/picture.php?albumid=18&pictureid=113
All in all, I don't think it turned out -that- badly, so it might be worth using Paint to make nice cards if I ever get better with it.

Have you guys done anything on paint.net? it's a bit cumbersome to use, but has some cool stuff you can do if you're patient. I'll show some of my work in a bit.

They have a program named magic set editor that can take the templates and put it in the program so you can make the cards have any of you thought about giving that a try?

I don't consider myself a poor Paint user, because of my experience of a previous project that involved heavy use of Paint (FE8x), but you might be able to tell I cheated...a bit.
