View Full Version : Untapped potential of Summoner Reference Cards??

I like how the Summoner Reference Card is mandatory for each Summoner. It allows for lots of opportunities to balance a Summoner character. For example, a fairly weak Summoner could be given strong event cards, or a really good Summoner could be cursed with an awkward or undermanned starting setup.

I was wondering a couple things about the Summoner Reference card. First, Will there ever be alternate reference cards for the same Summoner (like, say, a new Grognack card replacing Shamans with a not-yet-released common or adding an Ice Wall)? Secondly, will the order of events ever be changed? It is included on the reference card, so it could be done with only a small footnote or two in the revised edition rulebook, and it could add some really cool factors to the game if an offbeat Summoner had the Attack Phase before the Move Phase or the Event Phase in a different place.

Thoughts? Is this already in the works? Am I just thinking wishfully?

Re-ordering phases seems like it might be clunky and either a huge advantage or disadvantage, depending. Alternate Summoner cards I could see at some point, but I think that I--along with most people--would find new Summoners more exciting at this point in the game.

I agree that reordering phases would probably break the game. Just think about what wold happen it you could discard and place walls before you summoned!

However, I agree that the other stuff you mentioned would probably happen. Seems like a good thing for PlaidHat to do to keep the game alive.
