From Episode 58. Coming soon, SAND GOBLINS!
The Filth teach you to be flexible, to have multiple plans, and play reactively.
The Demagogue's Mutagist ability is unique - it allows you to trade one of your attacks for something that looks an awful lot like "a Mutant is Born." In the early rounds, this can be used to leverage a magic advantage by just building some of your Mutants as magic. Sometimes it's fun to bluff that you have Claw Mutant with Mutagist right when they have a lot of Magic so that they're afraid to summon a Champion on their following turn. You can use Mutagist to conjure up the answer to what your opponent is throwing at you, but it will almost never do anything for you this turn - it's about hatching an evil plan.
Although the Mutation mechanic means that you can often be at a magic disadvantage if your Mutants are destroyed by your enemies, their events can help create momentum swings. Channel Corruption is great for getting your expensive Mutants onto the board, such as Claw or Corpulent, or any of the 3-costers. Shield of the Hopeful can help make sure that you have enough commons to Mutate, and Heretic's Rebuke can be a huge game-changer against tough enemy commons. Possessed Wall can buy you time.
Swap your mutants around for added enjoyment! Tougher Mutants, such as Corpulent and Edible make great harbingers of doom. Slowly walk them toward your enemy. Your opponent will likely ignore them, because they don't pose an immediate threat. But you could always be hiding some Claws, Wings or a Demonic Visage beneath those rolls of fat and fungus.
