No. Pages 6-9 of the rule book (http://www.plaidhatgames.com/SW_Rulebook.pdf) discuss this, and have some good diagrams, if you're interested.

This cries out for a new Special Ability:

Ability: Ignore line-of-sight impairment for units 1 space in front of this unit.
Flavor Text: "DOWN IN FRONT!!!"

Like the rulebook says, you can't move or attack through anything. There are some exceptions though through card abilities and events.

The new ability Greater Flight from the vanguard faction used by the Archangel is an example.
