Has anyone gotten him out yet? If so, is there a fast & easy way to do so? Also, once he's out, how effective is he? Is he worth the 8 casting?

I got him out in one game I played. It took a little while to get him but, but i ended up discarding a few shamans, a hero is born, and used the rest of my built up magic from destroying units to bring him out on the field. I was actually pretty pleased with the way he played. His 9 life really pays off, and his 3 attack with a 50/50 of attacking all adjacent units is a bonus. You just need to watch out if any of your units/walls are adjacent to him because he'll attack them too on a 4+

I don't like him...at all.
His 9 life and 3 attack are good but just not quite good enough to justify his 8 cost. If I have Khan available he's my first choice to take out for Khan. If the rat is not available I burn Krung for magic almost as soon as I draw him. There have been 1 or 2 rare occasions that I want to summon him but its very rare.

I like Krung quite a bit, especially when my opponent has been emphasizing commons. It isn't so much the chance of killing multiple common foes as it is the fact that even using with all three attacks against Krung it is very hard to bring him down quickly. I can charge Krung toward the opposing Summoner knowing that my foe has a tough choice - focus on Krung for a few turns or deal with my other units and hope they can block him off for long enough to whittle him down over many turns. Using him in conjunction with Smashers is just beautiful - it's brutally difficult to amass enough attack dice to quickly remove that threat.
ETA Hey KCU, you going to be down in Nashville anytime soon like you mentioned you might? I'd be happy to show you why I love Krung so much ;)

I havent actually summoned him yet. Most of the time Im down on Magic, so I usually burn him. He seems to be pretty situational for me.

Lots of the beginners I play with have a huge fascination with him, so I've actually seen him hit the table several times.
I lost today because of him. My Oldin was standing next to two of my Walls, stupidly in the center of the battlefield. (I thought I was in good shape because I had a Defender and Baldar adjacent to Grognack, with Thorkur on the way). So what'd this kid do? He used his 10 Magic to put a Smasher and Krung on the other two adjacent sides of Oldin. Even if I survived that first round of attacks, (which I didn't since Oldin only had 3 lives left), I still wouldn't have had any way out of that mess.

Don't know. Plans kinda changed last month. We are, however, taking some time over the summer to go Gatlinburg or Nashville for 4-5 days. I may try and set up a long weekend down that way though.

Krung's cost is pretty prohibitive, so if you're going to bring him out, you've got to really want him. In most situations, you can get more kills by spending your 8 magic elsewhere. Where I feel Krung shines is as a board control tool.
When he hits the table, the enemy will typically either do whatever they can to take him out, or will give him a wide berth. If he's swarmed, he occupies the attention of a large number of enemy units for quite a while, which is fine. If he's feared, you've essentially created a moving void in the middle of the battlefield. Once you've figured out what the enemy wants to do about him, you can either use him as a sort of lure, or a method to "herd" the enemy's units.
One good tactic is to have a wall at the front edge of your battlefield, and drop Krung directly onto the opponent's side. Depending on placement, he can virtually cut the battlefield in half.
I think his biggest weakness (aside from cost, of course) is the enemy who staggers his units so that you have to fight through one per round. That's a pain. Supporting him with ranged units helps a bit here.

If you draw Krung early it can be worth it (though risky) to burn your common units as magic to summon him. Mid to late game you're better off using him as magic.

Thats the tough part for me. Early on, I'm looking to get units on the board so I can amasse more magic. I tend to have a nice surplus of magic near the end but by then, I've already sent Krung to the magic torch.

Krung doesn't make it to the party all of the time. But when he shows up on the board, as an opponent, you just feel deflated. I think he can be a great closer when your opponent simply doesn't have the resources to deal with his bulk.

I tried out "Krung-rushing" as I call it, in a game of Orcs vs Elves that I played. Which is just aggressively discarding into either Krung or A Hero is Born -> Krung.
He did a lot of damage, but got owned by a series of Spirit-of-the-Phoenix'ed commons. I didn't play it very well though, and my opponent blocked pretty well to keep me from running over Elien.

The fastest way i can possibly think of is..... Build Magic, use up a lot of commons and your gonna want to get rid of 1 of your champions because by then you will probably only use 1 more.
