How about Greater Rider, like Blarf, A0 C1 L5, but no Magic Augmentation instead give him Rider, so you can use Sneeks with sly.
Like Blarf he could be used for defence as well as for rushing.

or A0 C5 L5 and Gang Up+ (gang up and move +3 clear line spaces)

This is my first attempt so I may not be keeping it fair but I'm trying, just tell me what you think so I can get it right.

he wants a unit that can be used with the events though. he likes rider but wants the events to trigger

Or you could really throw a curveball and make him 2A 1L 0C with Rider, meaning he can use Swift Strike and then send Sneeks in. 2 attack might be a bit much. Maybe 1 attack, 2 life. But you get the idea.
