Previously on Little Meda: The Girl that plays with Mutants…

"Hi! I’m Little Meda and I only have 3 Life, but this is my Nanny who protects me and my Daddy who loves me, doesn’t like you, and helps me when I’m scared!  Look what I can do!!!

"All hail the Filth! I bring news of rolling 2 dice but only 1 usually counts!  And the other guys just want to die, or turn into some of these cool things here!"

I need a Dara song for the opening credits…

"Hi, I’m Little Meda!  This week it's Show and Tell – YAY!!!!  I get to show you all the rest of my toys!!!! I’ll save my favorite toy for last!!  But this is my biggest one!!"

Tusk Mutant

"This is Pokey, and he’s really fun!!! Daddy says he’s the one of the biggest toys we’ve ever made! He’s really good at beating up big bad guys, even when they’re far away! He’s big and he’s fast, so he’s super fun!!! He charges and he pokes and I really like him!!

"You know who else is really good at beating up big bad guys?

Blade Mutant

"Sharpie!!!  No, I don’t know what a "marker" is, but this is Sharpie! Be careful with him... he’s very sharp! Daddy says he’s a lot like Crabby, but Crabby is more consi... Constista... Crabby usually does a little better, cause sometimes Sharpie misses when he swings at things. But I like to play with Crabby and Sharpie at the same time!!! Big bad guys better watch out!!!

"And how about another fun big guy!! BOING!!!

Springy Mutant

"I used to think Springy was kinda yucky, but he can bounce really high!!! He gets a little scared though. If you touch him, he just jumps away! Sometimes it's really fun to poke him and make him jump super high and land right by a bad guy!! But bad guys poke him, too, so watch out! Sometimes he doesn’t stay where I want him to and I get mad, but then I just poke him again!

"I can’t poke this guy though... I might fall down...

Drool Mutant

"This is Drooly, and he’s really messy! Sometimes when you’re playing with Drooly you step in the big mess and slip! He’s like a big slide!!! Sometimes he can even slide people by me so I can play with them or they can play with my other toys!! He’s big, too!!!

"Now, this is my favorite toy!!  No matter how many times I lose him, I always find him again!

Amoeba Mutant

"Meet Blobby, my favorite toy!!! I always throw him and lose him and he goes away, but he always come back!! You can pound him and smash him and break him, and he comes back together again!!! He makes it easier to play with my toys and to make new ones, too!!! Daddy says that all of our Summoners will probably play with him, but that he doesn’t play as nice with them as he does with me, even though it seems like he would, whatever that means… but he’s my favorite!!! I love Blobby!

"So that’s all my toys!! I hope you like them!! Bye!!!"

So Amoeba Mutant... you just decided to give all 3 of the Filth summoners Battle Procurement? What.

These'll be fun. For the Benders... ¯_(ツ)_/¯,

Amoeba is amazing. The more magic you use, the stronger economic benefit one will get. We finally have an economic engine that promotes offense! =]

killercactus commented:

Actually I'm pretty sure the designers just did it to make people mad and start lengthy debates on how broken it is.

And it's nothing like Battle Procurement.

prometheuslkr commented:

How is it not like Battle Procurement? It's a card that comes back to your hand when you spend it into your discard, and that's all it does. Battle Procurement is "spent" differently, via abilities instead of as magic, but it's still the same thing.

glenn3e commented:

Amoeba is only good in Meda, where it generates magic every turn that you can use with her ability. The Dema and Warden can use it, but it will be stuck in the Magic pile till they summon something that costs Magic which is not always the case for Mutations/Commons. So its less useful there.

prometheuslkr commented:

Sure, Meda gets more out of it, but I'll still include a card that just says "build this for more than 1 magic" 100% of the time if I can.

Posted on 2016-05-23.

glenn3e commented:

Well, thats wholly up to you but not the case for every player out there.

Posted on 2016-05-23.

killercactus commented:

It's not the same thing at all, though it gets close to that with Little Meda if you're careful.

First of all, its a 3/3/3 Unit and not an Event. That's a bit different.

Second of all, Battle Procurement gives you an instant benefit. Blobby (assuming you don't use it as a Unit) doesn't provide you with anything but +1 magic until you spend it.

Thirdly, Battle Procurement always comes back every turn, and can then be used by Malenatar every turn. Amoeba comes back when it gets spent, which usually isn't every turn unless Little Meda is doing a good job managing her magic pile and always has mutants to grab.

Fourthly, Battle Procurement doesn't directly increase your magic at all, and it saves you the use of otherwise important cards. Amoeba really just increases the amount of magic you have to spend over the game by a few.

They function in game completely differently.

My first thought: These are amazingly good mutants.

My second thought: Shiva, Endrich, Tac, and even Farrah are going to love stealing these with Shifters. Especially Blobby, for that yummy infinite cycling magic. (Only 1 though, so I'm not sure how great it'll be late game, but 1 is better than none, right?)

Posted on 2016-05-23.

killercactus commented:

I'm guessing Filth Summoners won't be putting Blobby onto the battlefield against Benders / Farrah. They'll just cycle him themselves in their own magic/discard piles.

Irisches Glueck commented:

@zfs commented: Shifters are definitely going to be difficult to work around but not impossible. But they should never get Blobby from LM; you really won't summon it until late game.

Posted on 2016-05-23.

zfs commented:

That's true, you can choose to just never summon it, and then it can fuel Gifts from Daddy in the endgame, since you'll always be able to get at least the 1 magic from Blobby.

Could you potentially steal it by hitting it with Blazing Conscription and then killing it before the end of the turn? Or does it just go into your magic pile and then revert to being 'owned' by the Filth once the turn is over?

Posted on 2016-05-23.

Nburghardt commented:

Isn't "owner" different than "controller", meaning can a card change ownership in a match?

Posted on 2016-05-23.

killercactus commented:

The Filth player always "owns" the card, so when the opponent kills it, regardless of who controlled it when it died, it bounces back to the Filth player.

Posted on 2016-05-23.

zfs commented:

So even Shifters, Gulldune and Mind Control can't grab the magic loop for the Bender Summoner? All those cards also specify 'control,' not ownership.

Posted on 2016-05-23.

killercactus commented:

Nope - Amoeba always comes back to Little Meda. It's like the family dog that accidentally strays too far away from home. It always finds its way back.

Do all Mutations have nick names? And if so, are they listed somewhere? I assume Crabby is referring to the Claw Mutant. And I saw someone mention Sucky in a thread which I assume is a reference to Spellsucker Mutant.

Gore Mutant + Channel Corruption. It's Forced Summon without taking a wound. I love the art on these mutations too. The original mutants had a gross, surreal semi-human look. They are obviously people, but mutated. The Cave Filth mutants looked a lot a lot like mutant-animal hybrids. These...these look just, well, demonic. They resemble nothing overall, springy looks a bit like a spider, but... they are monsters. True monsters.

All good except Incanter should be "shouty" to keep with the others :)

jwalker commented:

wow these are a bunch of rather expensive mutants - but very interesting ones. Spring and Tusk have quite some powerful stats and blade is jet another any champ mutations (next to claw and poision) but a bit unreliable (best unit to kill Baldar however!). Drool mutant has really good stats but I'm not sure how useful his ability might be - but I might take him instead of burrow in warden. Amoeba is interesting in Dema (to speed up the engine always get him first) in warden not so much I guess (you want units in your discard pile to go to prison pile) but Meda should make good use if him.
Tusk mutant + channel corruption/enlist looks really strong and Spring might be the perfect unit to switch into after your Spew, Horror, Winged (precious 3 life mutants) got wounded. Afterwards it's very easy to switch him out for magic.

killercactus commented:

No - Incanter is definitely "Loudmouth". He's the "Doc" of the Mutants.

I think Meda will easily be a contender. I'm absolutely thrilled to have a Filth summoner where the summoner gets involved in the combat (sorry Warden)

Can Amoeba Mutant pay for itself? Or do you have to declare what card you are summoning before you pay the magic cost?
