BioShock Infinite is, like, a big deal. The third entry in the critically acclaimed first-person shooter style video game series, BioShock Infinite builds on its predecessors' immersive, narrative gameplay and philosophical, character-driven stories while breaking new ground with a new setting, new characters, and all kinds of new game mechanics. BioShock Infinite sets the gold standard for storytelling and action in video games.

Plaid Hat Games is thrilled and priveleged to be bringing you not just the board game version of a popular video game, but a chance to help players explore the imaginative and immersive world of BioShock Infinite in an epic new way. Thus, we present Bioshock Infinite: The Siege of Columbia.

A few months ago, when the collector's edition of BioShock Infinite was announced on Irrational Games' Web site, the beans were spilled that Plaid Hat Games was working on the board game, putting players in the shoes of the Vox Populi and Founders leaders, battling for control of Columbia while Booker and Elizabeth create chaos around the city. Finally, with the video game in fans' hands, details will start to emerge here on our site about the board game.

Here's the most important detail: You can pre-order BioShock Infinite: The Siege of Columbia today at PlaidHatGames.com and get $25 off the retail price. Those who order from PlaidHatGames.com also get a free promo card.

Other than that, explore the few pages of info we've put up on the game's official site, and keep coming back over the next few weeks, because the full-color, 24-page rule book as well as a larger full image of the game board will be up soon.

The game will include 52 miniatures, tons of original artwork based on the video game, and an epic struggle that will last 60-90 minutes for 2 or 4 players. Produced by Colby Dauch, who has overseen all of Plaid Hat Games' projects including Mice and Mystics, players will get a box filled with high quality components and beautiful art. Most importantly, it's a masterfully crafted game system designed by Isaac Vega that will satisfy both fans of the video game and serious strategy tabletop gamers. If you're both, you'll truly be in heaven.

Pre-order BioShock Infinite: The Siege of Columbia today to ensure you don't miss out on the pre-order discount. And to those who are fans of the video game and have never heard of Plaid Hat Games, check out our game library and the free iOS app based on our flagship game Summoner Wars to see what Plaid Hat Games is all about and the kind of high-quality game you can expect from our take on BioShock Infinite.

I'm disappointed. PHG, in the future, don't sell out.

Dude, Zebulin. Don't you know how AWESOME this is???

I'd hardly call it selling out, they're producing the board game for one of the best selling video game series on the market. Plus the game looks absolutely fantastic.

Zebulin, what if I told you that Plaid Hat didn't contact Bioshock, Bioshock contacted them to produce it?

Wow, Zebulin, self righteous much?

Is there a way that European backers can pre-order hte game? 50$ in shipping (plus taxes at customs) much makes it a ridiculous price, even with the 25$ discount.

Truth commented:

Sorry we are charging international customers what it costs to ship. International retailers will carry the product after its release though. So they will bring it over in bulk offering you a more affordable price.

I understand, but there is no way for us to get the promo cards then?

Also, I do not see why PHG is selling out. They are a company that loves making games, a company paid them to design a game, and they did so. What is wrong with it?

Super excited. Awesome timing. Glad the video game turned out great, and hope this game follows the trend. Lord knows we need more quality in every market these days.

I don't even play Bioshock and this looks fantastic. Going to have to get it from Redbox and see what the fuss is now.

Very excited for the game; the video game is fantastic. I do wish PHG had chosen some different artwork for its banner. Why does George Washington look like sad Pinocchio?

@KPWoods, having played the videogame, that's not George Washington...

Can you shed some light on the Promo Card? I bought the LE Strategy Guide so I already have Enraged Songbird. Is there an alternative? Possibly just a duplicate card of something else with special artwork?

joepinion commented:

It's the enranged songbird card.

Are there going to be motorized patriot units? Because that's a deal beaker for me.

TheOneHypnotic commented:

So does the Handyman model that comes with the Premium and Songbird editions of the video game differ in some way from those in the normal game? Within the game, does it allow you to play it as an extra unit or have some other benefit?

Adam commented:

I was under the impression it was just a model for decoration, not intended to supplement the game components. It could also be good for intriguing non-board gamers who might not otherwise look into the board game.

Clayface commented:

casepac,

If you go to the Bioshock homepage here on Plaidhat. If you look at the banner on the right there is a list of cards. One of them is the Motorized Patriot.

Bioshock is #1 on the Hotness on BGG. That's great for exposure. Now lets show that rule book so people know what they're preordering! (Myself included)
