Do you hear that echo of marching feet coming from over the horizon?  It is the sound of more armies being mustered to join the ever-growing Summoner Wars!

Scouts have been dispatched to determine their makeup. Their initial report tells us the factions they belong to.  Here are some preliminary images that have been captured:

Guild Dwarves Second Summoner box Cave Goblins Second Summoner box Tundra Orcs Second Summoner box Phoenix Elves Second Summoner box

From this alone we can tell that they will be a serious threat to the hopes for peace in Itharia.  We are anxious for further details about these forces, and we will share those details with you as the scouts' reports come in.

That looks like a cannon tower for the Guild Dwarves. Awesome.

Excellent! Please bring this and other expansion goodness to the iOS apps -- anything you do there, even something silly like custom faction dice on the graphics -- would be an instabuy for me.

I LIKE TAU! commented:

The TO guy looks a bit weaker than grognack, and that means we may be able to get some unit to go one on one with him and win for once.

Those elves look like they're serious.

Does the art look a little bit more realistic than before to anyone else? I really like it though, and the pig fills my brain with curiosity.

Which mercenary would best complete a pig/eater trio?

YAY! New Dwarves! :)

ramblr commented:

That creature is inspired by a bat, people. Cave*

With that said, Phoneix Elves look badass. They don't look as well behaved as the first faction.
And Thundra Orcs are lean tribals now? Hm.
Based on the PE in the background, there may be a bit more variety in clothes colors now, which is something I was hoping for.

They all look a bit evil to me. When are the planned release dates?

@Ryujin: i bet Grubs would go nicely from a thematic viewpoint

thenightsshadow commented:

Okay, speculation time. All the previous releases had the Summoner in the middle, next to one Champion and one Common (though I don't remember if The Filth fit this or not). I see no reason to doubt this now. That means that we have a Champion and a Common. I wonder what that means...

Posted on 2012-12-31.

Killer Lawnmower commented:

Giant-eater-mole Commons?

Posted on 2012-12-31.

Uncleeurope commented:

I wonder if the bat is a common? Because that would be cool...

Posted on 2012-12-31.

sitnam90 commented:

Well the placement of units on faction boxes isnt uniform. Kalon and Etch are on the right while Violet and Abomination are on the left side. I bet it'll be a champ, but if it is a common it'll be the first non-animal common that isn't the factions major race. This is assuming the manbatpear is sentient and not a beast

PassiveAssassin commented:

lol, "a serious threat to the hopes for peace in Itharia"...

"Peace", that sounds horribly boring!!

Posted on 2012-12-31.

tortugatron commented:

The "bat" looks to me like its just a goblin with a mask and maybe a beard. No bat at all.

Posted on 2012-12-31.

Uncleeurope commented:

@sitnam the Benders have Parasites. Or is that not what you meant?

Posted on 2012-12-31.

mrkurtb commented:

I pity the fool who messes with these tundra orcs.

Posted on 2012-12-31.

sitnam90 commented:

@Uncleeurope: Parasites are like Gorillas or Fire Beasts. No faction has intelligent minor members fighting as commons.

JanE commented:

And next week some of the cards, right?

The polls to choose which cards to preview were fun and exciting...

Uncleeurope commented:

Who says the bat is intelligent?

Posted on 2013-01-01.

Spazzfist commented:

They all look like younger summoned than the originals. Especially the Tundra Orc summoner. And is it just me, or does the Phoenix Elf summoner look like Queen Amadala?

Posted on 2013-01-01.

Adam commented:

I think the assumption is that any anthropomorphic creature is "intelligent," with an understandable exception for the Gorilla.

Posted on 2013-01-01.

Uncleeurope commented:

Ah... That makes sense. And to argue against myself, I realized recently that the Gorillas wield sticks. Making them a bit smarter that thought...

Posted on 2013-01-01.

tortugatron commented:

Elephants are really smart too. They even are thought to have their own protolanguage. They might even have individual names in their herd! Ok, back to topic. I thought the bat people were referring to was the one opposite of the pig, but now I see that it IS the pig. I highly doubt that it will be a common unit though. Mercs, FK, and VG, and even Rukar's have champion right common left.

Frick looks like the kind of guy who has ten daggers hidden all over his body.

Posted on 2013-01-01.

prometheuslkr commented:

It looks a little strange that both Torgan and the batpig are smiling, but other than that, looks epic.
GD: Guy with tools, maybe he can repair walls and/or machines? And a cannon tower, looks like they finally got their hands on some gunpowder.
CG: Manbearpig... bat! It smiles with gleeful evil! And Frick looks cool.
TO: Torgan looks a lot more like a sorcerer than a smasher like Grogs. Looks like we not only get a she-orc, but a non-shaman ranged unit!
PE: That fancy headdress definitely looks unlike what we have yet seen. Another archer, and the guy on the left looks like maybe the second male elf champion (edit: actually not, but maybe the first male PE champ?)

Posted on 2013-01-01.

tortugatron commented:

Who is the first male PE champ? To my knowledge there isn't any yet.

Posted on 2013-01-01.

prometheuslkr commented:

There's no male PE champ, but Xaserbane is the first male elf champion.
Edit: Forgot about Melek and Kuldrid, so never mind.

Edit: Wait, double posting isn't allowed? Huh. Anyway, I meant to comment on the new yellower skin for the PE. I'm not the only one who thinks they're getting yellower, am I? It seems like it started with Saella and extends to Queen Maldaria's deck.

I'm thinking I'm gonna use Piggy, Eater, and Kogar together and have the animals tank through. I'm not sure how well It'd work, but it would be fun.

Cuffs Alister commented:

THIS IS SO EPIC!!! I can't get over it. BTW, is Frick's mouth stitched shut?

Posted on 2013-01-01.

prometheuslkr commented:

No, I think that's just his teeth.

Also, when are these going to be in the store so we'll have status updates on them?

detinn commented:

Setharillius commented:

He may not have his mouth stitched shut, but he sure doesn't seem to have much of a nose!!

Also, I'm pretty sure queen Mardaria is wearing an angry birds headdress.

chardris77 commented:

I just noticed a quiver on the TO.

Also, I wonder if flaming arrows damage structures.

Edit: Oh, does anyone know where the pics are on BGG; I can't find them.

Posted on 2013-01-02.

Olivier commented:

The gobbies not only get a bat but also a Jawa!

And now I see why the PE were rated higher than the TO on the evil scale as TO summoner #2 looks like he's asking Elien's mom to share a friendly cup of tea but b***h is giving him the evil eye instead.

I might be the only one, but I'm still not quite sure why Bioshock is in the store when things like these packs and Dungeon Run 2 aren't yet.

iklabain commented:

Please show us some SE,SO,SG,MV,DD, and Benders second summoner faction deck pics!

BTW the GD summoner looks like he's about ready for a ride on the Harley.

joepinion commented:

prometh, BioShock doesn't have any reference to it anywhere on the site other than a couple news articles, so the product page serves as the de facto game page for now.

On the other hand, Summoner Wars and Dungeon Run already have whole areas of the site to themselves.

Those. Look. Incredible!

Posted on 2013-01-07.

prometheuslkr commented:

Not sure if any of these have been previewed because I'm trying to avoid looking at the previews, but in light of the deck lists from the store, I'd say:
GD: Architect and Grundor's Tower
CG: Runt and The Feeder
TO: Shooter and... Krom? (just guessing there)
PE: Duke Ramazall and Fire Archer
