UPDATE: Registration filled up sooner than I would have ever guessed! 54 in. Registration is closed. Keep your eyes peeled on the official thread and at the front page of PlaidHatGames.com to follow the action, which will start Friday.

You've all had enough practice; it's finally time to prove your summoing skills by competing in the first official Plaid Hat Games Summoner Wars iOS tournament. The summoner who proves himself as the best will get a $50 plaidhatgames.com gift card!

This will be a pool tourney, meaning that competitors will be divided into 6-person pools and all players in one pool will play each other simultaneously during a week. The top two finishers in each pool move on each round.

To sign up you must completely read the rules in the official tournament sign-up and results thread on our forums, and reply to that forum thread with your intention to compete. We are only accepting 54 competitors, so head over there right away!

All games will be 3-day games in the app, meaining that each player gets 3 total days to make their moves and so each match could last up to 6 days. This gives you time if you have to be away from your device for a whole day or so, as long as you can commit to otherwise paying attention to your device for most of the month (The tournament will end before Halloween.)

If you're still on the fence about getting Summoner Wars on iOS, download the Phoenix Elves for free on the App Store. Plus, this week from Monday to Friday, in honor of the tournament, Playdek is offering the "Everything" bundle (all 8 factions and all reinforcements currently available) for the incredible value of just $4.99. Even if you own the app already, it's the perfect time to introduce it or gift it to a friend.

Remember, to register, you must read all the rules and sign up on the official tournament thread in our forums. (Do NOT try to register by replying to this news article.)

Good luck to all!

Sounds like a lot of fun. Now I really wish I had an iOS device. Best of luck to everyone who enters.

Are there any plans to make SW available on Android systems? I really want to play this game digitally but cant due to my phone.

Could we get a version for the internet itself? I know there's Vassal, but my phone's too low tech to allow me to play these games and I want something just like it except for playing on the internet.

I agree with MegaSilver. Some Java/Script based Summoner Wars would be sweet.

I agree a PC and/or Mac app would be great, but we probably have to take that up with Playdek.

Looks like ill be getting an Idevice just for this.
